Here's a few more reasons why your car might be over-heating:
-Your Mass Air Flow Sensor, or your Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor might be bad. When a MAP or MAF Sensor goes bad, it will tell the car that you're not getting enough air...so, the car has to burn more fuel. Burning more fuel leads to higher temperatures.
-Your Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor going bad is another major cause; and, your Crank Shaft Position Sensor could have a negative effect on engine temperature, as well.

But, no matter what, you should change out your Coolant every five years (NO EXCEPTION)...and, you should change out your Radiator, Engine Coolant Thermostat, and all of your Temperature Sensors every 10 years (no exception).
