He kinda wandered off from the question but the things he said were really wise and essential.

If we are to model ourselves after Jesus and Paul, we should say there is no mandate for a Christian to live in a monastery/nunnery. Paul addresses this in 1 Corinthians 5:9-10. Jesus himself constantly associated with ‘sinners’ (Matthew 9:11), to better present a model of a proper life. The goal of a Christian is to go out and spread the Good News, to baptize, to make disciples, and to teach (Matthew 28:19-20). It’s hard to let our light shine before men (to glorify our Father in Heaven, Matthew 5:16) if we shut ourselves away from them.

O Powerful St. Rita,
rightly called Saint of the Impossible,
I come to you with confidence in my great need.
You know well my trials,
for you yourself were many times burdened in this life.
Come to my help, speak for me, pray with me,
intercede on my behalf before the Father.
I know that God has a most generous heart
and that he is a most loving Father.
Join your prayers to mine
and obtain for me the grace I desire:

(Share your request…)

You who were so very pleasing to God on earth
and are so much more now in heaven,
I promise to use this favour, when granted,
to better my life, to proclaim God’s mercy,
and to make you more widely known and loved. Amen
