And remember this video is a guide for starting and up to intermediate play. The best thing about these games is the individuality of your build. Once you get a grasp of what the parts are capable of, you can build whatever you want. In order to improve your skill in crafting an AC I suggest you pick a build concept and try to make it work as best you can. All of the parts have a utility on the right kind of mech. Don't feel like you have to use the same parts on every AC you make.

It's definitely worth tuning lock speed, in my opinion. You really feel the difference when fighting against NEXTs. And also, like someone else already mentioned, the Sobrero generator outclasses almost everything else. Very light while still having very high output. Unfortunately you can't unlock it until your second playthrough.

Jesus thank you so much! Like many I assume, and playing 4 answer to get my toes wet before 6 comes out. This is incredibly helpful and I really appreciate it

Nice video man. It's great that there is a need to make guides like this again. I am loving this renaissance.

I started this game last week. Used simple controls and auto-sighting... needless to say, I stopped playing cause i could not for the life of me hit a goddanm battleship even if i stood face to face with it.

So thank you so much for teaching this AC idiot how to play the game.

Excellent video, sir. A really educational piece for those just dipping their toes into the ocean that is Armored Core.

Great guide, thanks for making something like this. I disagree with some of it (like turning auto sighting off, I find it very useful personally), but this is a really good comprehensive rundown for new players regardless

I also heard from a very experienced AC PVPer that auto boost can waste energy needlessly in some situations, but I haven't actually tested that out so I don't know for sure. I've always just left it on.

Thank you for this, hope to see more content from you when 6 drops.

i picked the omer mech on my first playthrough and wondered why up untill late act 3 none of the available mech parts (not guns ofc) were simply not viable at all compared to what i had since the beginning😅 of course i now have nothing left of the og build but the laser blade and legs. this is probably great since i never really struggled with money to test out all the weapons

KP isn't energy. It's for your primal armour regeneration. Has nothing to do with your energy for your boosters/energy weapons.

for some reason I haven't been able to activate Assault Armor after the tutorial? I'm emulating, and when I press all three required buttons they just do their regular functions independently without activating Assault Armor. I wish there was a dedicated button for this, or maybe a combination of both L3 and R3.

I disagree that GA is a good option for beginners. It has very large ammo costs and relatively poor parts. It's also very poorly armed for the early missions. The rifle is usable and the bazooka can kill normals and ships decently. The missiles are very bad, however. The regular missile fires a large salvo one at a time, often costing a ton of money when killing the enemy with the first two or three missiles and wasting the rest. The High Act missile is just less damage for unnecessary tracking improvements at a higher cost. I've seen new players take the GA SUNSHINE into early missions and come out with negative income, due to a combination of expensive weapon ammo and high repair costs. The only real advantage to taking GA is that you immediately get access to VTF missiles in the shop.

Omer and Interior Union are much better starting options for beginners.

The TYPE-LANCEL has a well balanced setup and decent starting parts. The rifle should be upgraded as soon as possible but it's still very usable. The chain gun gives a left side ranged weapon to use when not using the blade. The laser blade is very useful for large and slow targets and it's easy to use as far as laser blades go. The scatter missiles are a bit of a miss and should probably be removed immediately, as they aren't beginner friendly and rather niche.

The TELLUS has very good parts. It's ugly as hell, but quite good. The weapons need a bit of customization but available options allow for this. The plasma rifle is okay but replacing it with a laser rifle or pulse gun would be better. The AS missiles especially need to go. They are easy to use but cost 700C a missile.

And I don't think anyone would recommend going Independent for a beginner. While I love the AALIYAH, it's very demanding and doesn't tolerate mistakes. Requires good energy management, does poorly in the air, and needs better weapons. The Dragonslayer is a strong blade but hard to use and unfortunately the best weapon it comes with. The Hitman machine gun is okay when paired with appropriate weapons but it isn't. The plasma cannon is basically worthless. You also don't get any shop options and shop options take a long time to become available.

Your modifications on the TYPE-LANCEL are okay. A rifle-machine gun combo is good against ACs but those aren't present in early missions. Selling spare weapons and buying Labiata rifles is more useful immediately. The laser blade is also useful in some early missions.

How do you get FRS points to 400+? I’m stuck at 190 points

Can I ask how you are aiming without auto-sighting? Does it still lock on, it just doesn't move the camera automatically? I'm playing on an emulator because I do not have a ps3 and the camera movement takes so long, so I have it on auto-sighting and barely use the right stick in combat. Just wondering if this is the same for everyone.

For very experienced players is there any benefits of going independent? Additional missions or anything?

Is this game balanced in such a way that that most weapons and parts can work to get through the game?
