My ESTP daughter is so cute. I figured her out when she was really young. When she was old enough to read and understand, I told her, "Okay smarty, I am still Mom. You have to do what I say, unless I ask you to sin. But it's your responsibility to learn what sin is first." She took that and ran. Her conscience is solid, developed, and she has always been confident in telling me, very politely cutely enough, when she thinks I'm wrong. And I have always honored her words, and when she's right, honored her objection. As an INFJ mom, she's been a blast to raise.

We didn't have the ti, te, fi, fe vocabulary so I used words that fit our lifestyle. But the concept was the same.

My favourite thing to say as a Ti parent user is "facts don't care about you feeling". and it's true

I get the sense the Ti is gullible toward believing assertions that are "more logically consistent." But just because something is illogical and doesn't make sense based on the available information, doesn't mean it's not true. By the same token, just because something makes complete logical sense based on the available information doesn't mean that it is true, because there could be factors contributing to the truth that are completely impossible to know at that point.

You've added so much value in my life, i can finally consciously arrange and align the pawns around me, to serve my purpose with great efficiency.

I dated an ESTP and have seen real examples of what you're explaining and can confirm it is accurate. He got himself into trouble in college, with traffic tickets, and with every job he has had due to testing and bending rules. Most of the time he'd end up talking his way out of it and end up joking around with the person trying to write him up. The Persuader is an accurate label for him.

2:25 Great analogy for Ti and Te, as well as the contrast between them!

My belief is that thinking functions are the tools you need for desperate circumstances, when there's no one and nothing reliable around and you have to pull yourself out by your sheer wits and action.

I think I got my hypothesis. Ive had a friend tear down my beliefs whether im a Ti dom or not, but i now i know im the farthest thing from Fi, I usually do not view things as good or bad but within a grey spectrum that needs to be further analyzed. When you talked about sticking to our ideas unless given factual evidence is so true. We also do not know how to sugar coat the truth, and its not because were trying to be arrogant but that is literally the only way we know how to do it. My friend is an enfp and she drags me constantly into a wirl pool of self doubt. Thanks to your video i can affirm my type. Keep it up man!

Te - Collective true/false by stats, data (Rational)
Ti - Individual true/false (Logic)

Fe - Ethics, majority rules with good or bad
Fi - Morals, personal value judgment

Really appreciate your videos, better than most of the other stuff about cognitive functions I've devoured so far. Good job!

oh wow i just realized why i and my best friend end up using some kind of different ways to aproach to a situation. (i am INFJ she is INTJ) Sometimes she tries to explain me something logical but i refuse it because it doesnt suit to my own logic. And even if she proves it i sometimes get really stubborn lol. But i think because i have Fe dominant too i also try to understand what people feel and think. Thats why its not that hard for me to understand other people's logic and try to accept it. But even if i try to accept their logic i usually dont abandon my logic totally i just say that "i understand and approve your statements and logic but in my opinion if this was like "a", it would be better."

Have you ever heard of the pandemonium theory model on decision making? This is the perfect analogy for Ti. In a nutshell, Ti would be where the group says a bunch of things, but then the "decision demon, " as it's called in the system, decides regardless of the group, like a king would in a kingdom. Te, on the other hand, like you've described in your system (which is very useful btw!) would be much more demoncratic: all the members of the group vote and majority rules. Thanks very much for this explanation! I'm ENFP so I really struggled to understand Ti - my brain defaults to Te.

As a Ti user, I appreciate your insights. Ever the skeptics, we may respect the consensus, but that doesn't mean we won't challenge it personally.

What does it mean if you get a Jamba Juice, set it on the counter, and forget you had it? I find that I have to drink something immediately, or I will forget about it. Inferior Se at work?

By the way, I watched all of these videos when they came out, but I am just now coming to comment years later because a tour in my mind palace led me back here. Yes, you are a resident there.

Hope you are well, Chase.
