Granted this is a complicated, awful mess. Solution are possible, but very expensive to the people who would be financially hurt by it the solving the problem. People wouldn’t risk their lives to come here if thier wasn’t substantial benefits to be had. If business stopped hiring undocumented labor, the thousands of people would stop coming here in the ways they are. But businesses take advantage of of these undocumented immigrants by paying much less, and thereby increasing their profits. It’s a win/win, right? No, wrong it’s not a win for neither party. Business spend millions to lobbyist to influence lawmakers not to outlaw the practice of hiring actual undocumented labors. There are many shades of this behavior.For example, the construction trades where relatively low skilled labor is being paid under the table illegally ALL THE TIME. This what is driving the motivation of people from south of the border. Until it is so painful for a contractor to hire undocumented workers the problem will continue.
