Mom use to say, "stay out of the stores and you'll be fine, "-- so true. Out of sight out of mind.

I used to be a shoe freak but when I tell you I've calmed down. In the last eight years, I've purchased ONE pair of winter boots and hardly any shoes.

Another big one is acrylic nails. The nail salons have become ridiculously overpriced. The regular maintenance of acrylic nails is pricey, THEN it costs money to make nails healthy again trying all the different nail strengthener & cuticle oils.

I'm a multi millionaire and don't buy any of these except new cars. I pay cash and keep for 10 years or more.

Nail salon visits. Whenever I've been low on money, getting my nails done is the first thing to go. You can do spa quality nails at home.

Buying a lottery ticket that is a good piece of advice a waste of your money.
I worked for Luxottica at one time the eye company you were talking about and youโ€™re absolutely right. I sold Chanel and I sold Ray-Banโ€˜s and I sold all of those. We represented all those brands and youโ€™re right itโ€™s ridiculous to spend that kind of money even on eyeglasses for your reading itโ€™s ridiculous .

Another potential waste of money is more than one car per household if you both work from home or are retired. Was about to replace an older second car when my husband and I discussed this. When we added the car payment + insurance + maintenance, and considered the fact that we were both working from home, we decided to forgo another car note. We have not regretted our decision once. The money we save is one reason why we are able to live comfortably now that we are both retired.

You are so right about Disney. I'm will vacation in Florida next month and I found a Disney hoody and the Goodwill and my Disney shorts somewhere else for $5. I'm saving so much money and I won't be tempted when I see the new Disney stuff when I get to Orlando.

I've worn sunglasses since eight grade as I read once wearing sunglasses could save my eyesight from changing sooner than it should. I always picked sunglasses that had 100% UVB/UVA protection. My desire was always eye health, not a fashion statement. I now wear only Eagle Eye Optics (USA made) since they use the same NASA technology that protects the Astronauts' eyes via their spacesuit helmets. ๐Ÿ™‚

I look for shoes that are better for my feet's natural shape; shoes that have wide toe boxes; mimic natural bare feet and made with sustainable technology & the organization shares my values.

I use coupons.. but I make sure I stay within the limit. I love buying art and craft things. I am nuts about crocheting my own clothes right now.. People look forward to seeing what I come up with.. (I might spend a little bit more later to finish a project) It gives me continued joy.
