Keep every light off that you aren't in the room using.

Put up thermo curtains in place of thin curtains. This will save emensely on heat and cooling bills.
Can use large towels or blanket throws, to hang over curtains to keep out heat from sun, or cold in winter.

Can lay towels or blankets at the bottom of doors around the house.

Keep doors closed two rooms not being used.
Use velcro magnetic screen doors to block off extra rooms and wherever you fill a draft.

Use clear thick tape liners for windows.
Use plug in heaters instead of central heat and air.

I no longer use a grocery cart. Instead, I limit my buying to what fits in my hands & arms.

I expected more. I already do these things. My car is 19 years old and in good shape. I purposely buy thrifted items first before resorting to the latest new thing. I keep my clothes for years and only replace them as things wear out. I do buy in bulk and preserve to prevent loss. I turn off the heat at night and invest in wool and Alpaca items to stay warm. I make hair products, toothpaste, and grooming hygiene products last 6 months to a year. I look for natural fiber clothes, which last longer. I only buy what is on sale unless I am completely out of that supply. I am not a big consumer by choice. Occasionally, I treat my family to a fast food dinner or diner meal out to break up monotony. We don't do high-end restaurants by choice except to celebrate birthdays. My daughter says I eat like a peasant, and I do because I prefer it, not because I have to. I enjoy simple whole foods with ample herbs and spices. Give me a bowel of humus and some flat bread with a glass of wine or brochetta with good Italian bread, pizza made made with tomato, cheese and basil and a dash of olive oil, simple tacos, potato soup, spaghetti with meatballs or meat sauce, chicken pot pie, clam chowder and hush puppies, corn fritters and raw honey. I can make a meal out of nothing and be happy.

A pack of seeds and watering can make my day. A romp with my dogs, I am 75, thrills me because they are so engaged and honest. There was a time when I couldn't afford shoes from Good Will or to eat every day. But I was young then and could cope.

Watch your money till you get real close up in your age when you know you’re not going anywhere anymore then you can spend it all. You just live off your check till you pass. Till then watch how you live to enjoy life! ❤
