I prefer to use an amp clamp on the negative side of the battery wiring that grounds to the engine.

This will show you how many amps the battery is taking, and if it's negative, then it's likely the alternator broken.

Hi my voltage drops from 14.2v to 13v when i put eveything on lights heaters radio etc is it bad alternator

My odb2 is reading 12.9 under load with radio, ac, high beam headlights and hazards on . Probably time for alternator or is a multimeter more accurate?
