When I looked at the problem, I did it much simpler.. 25 x 4 = 100, 7 x 4= 28. 28%

I'm an older guy. The algebraic method with cross multiplication has always been very helpful for me during my life since learning algebra in high school. It's one of those problems that comes up over and over in real life, and it's really helpful to know how to do it relatively quickly.

Before watching: I always calculate percentages like this (7/25)*100 = 28% or when I'm feeling lazy I just go 7*4 =28% because I know 100/25 = 4. You could also do (7*100)/25 . It doesnt really matter what way you do it. Then again I'm using percentages daily. :) Or often I just use per one.. and leave it at the .28 because i'm lazy.
Percentages are easy in general I mean the word Per Cent = per 100. It gives such a clear number that can be easily understood.
I'ts good to refresh a bit of math once in a while.

I remember a teacher doing that cross multiplication and saying this is really going to help you out in life. I use it to compare prices a lot. Wish I could remember their name.

28, I like to work this kind of problem as a ratio so I can visualize the problem better.
25 : 100
7 X

So you multiply the 100 times the 7 and divide the result by 25 and you get X equals 28.

It's a great idea to show multiple ways to do a problem. It solidifies each method a bit better in your head. And thanks for the little refresher on the "% = part of whole" idea, because it's been (counts to self, stops at multiple dozens of years) well, _a long time_ since I've been in school. 😂

To get 25 up to 100 multiply by 4, so multiply 7x4= 28, percent.

It's been a long time since I was at school and it's nice to test yourself from time to time. The most important thing to do is first read the question and understand what is required. I ran like a bull at a gate and thought it read what is 7% of 25, which I got right but would have been marked wrong. Luckily I picked it up and corrected my answer, but in a test situation when the pressure is on, take the time to fully read the question and make sure you understand what is required.

Okay, since 25 is 1/4th of 100, thus 1 would be 4% of 25. 7 would be 7*4 or 28%. Pretty sure that's correct. Confirmed this on a calculator, 7 divided by 25 = 0.28 or 28% Percent is a fraction of 100%.

This is so great. I didn't know how to explain this in layman's terms to my kids, so there was a lot of yelling. I wish I had known about you back in the days. Even I understand what it means instead of just going through the steps. Thanks a whole lot

Greetings. The answer is 28%. The answer is determined as follows, divide 7 by 25 and multiply the result by 100 to get 28. There is no need for a calculator, 25 into 100 is 4 and multiplying the 4 by 7 yields 28.

I absolutely love your videos. I wish I had math teachers like you in school. They just taught us how to solve problems by rote memory.

I am a coder and data scientist. You'd think Id be strong in math, right? Wrong! I came up in the 70s and everything was rote memory. No one explained math as a language until I was much older. Had one person explained it to me that way I would have been much stronger at a younger age. Just an interesting side note.

28%. I was taught "is" is like equals, and "of" like multiply, so you get 7 = 25x (where x is the variable representing "what %"). To solve, do 7/25 = .28, then move the decimal to convert to % becomes 28%.

Did this one in my head. X% of 25=7, X/ 100 = 7/25, 25X = 700, X = 700/25, X = 28.
Thanks Coach Stofle, my 9th grade pre-algebra teacher.
