I’m a 43 year old man. ...at this point in my life, I thought the YouTube algorithm would be shooting me golf videos or hot rod car alas, YouTube knows me much much better than I know myself.

We have a family of 10 and this is all I ever use. I make it every February and I love it. I have an HE Whirl Pool Washer and I have been using this now for 6 years and the washer is still working great.

This recipe lasted me and my husband TWO years! I am coming back to watch again because I now need to make another batch. Thanks Jillie!

I also started using this to clean my bathroom tub and sink. It cuts the soap scum and makes it really white. I just use the basic recipe without the added scent crystals.

Saw this video over 3 years ago, looking for a cheaper way to wash laundry as I was expecting my 2nd child and my husband's job was extremely dirty. I doubled the recipe and have only had to make this natural laundry detergent TWICE IN 3 1/2 YEARS doing laundry every single week and having family members come over to do laundry as well! This is an absolute game-changer, try it! You will not regret it!

Zote come in a box of flakes also which makes it easier to use

I used white Zote instead of fels naptha because it has a whitener and I wanted to omit the oxygen cleaner. I have delicate clothes. If I need whites cleaned whiter, then I add the oxygen cleaner to the load. Also, I omitted the fragrance pellets because my kitty cats do not like scents on their blankets and toys. So if I want fragrance I add the fragrance pellets to the load. This way every load is custom made. I love Jillee's recipe, and that it can be tailored to everyone's needs.... And her bag mixing technique is brilliant!

I just made this soap and I've been using it for about two weeks. I love it. It is so much easier than the liquid and I think it works so much better. My clothes smell great.

Try using a 5 gallon bucket! :) It won't break like the bags and you can leave the extras in it. :) I saw a similar recipe, but it was doubled and it's lasted us the last year and will last us at least 6 more months with 2 in cloth diapers. It's amazing!

I have been making my own and using it for the last four years. This is a much easier recipe than I've been using so I'm happy to find it. Cleans my clothes soooo much better than the other stuff. Clothes stay in great shape and look new. I don't put softener in mine though.

Just wanted to say how happy I am with this recipe! I made this recipe following your video March 11th.. so about 5 months in.. it cleans just like store bought and for 30 bucks! And yes looks like I can get a year's worth out of it!

Just a note, if using for cloth diapers, leave out the fabric softener - it can make the diapers less absorbent as it leaves kind of a waxy substance on them :)

I am also an appliance repairman and I do not recommend using this in new HE machines. In fact, I don't recommend using any powder detergent in these machines. They simply do not use enough water to thoroughly dissolve or rinse away this type of detergent. Half of the problems I encounter in repairing HE machines is due to the type and quantity of detergent used. But, if you are determined to use powder detergent, use it sparingly and always do an extra rinse. I know these homemade detergents are popular with some people because they are inexpensive to make. But, I promise if you screw up your machine by using too much the cost of repair will negate any cost savings from make-your-own detergent. 🤔

I made this last year and it works well- on kid's clothes, hubby's work clothes, towels and sheets. I am so glad you made this video with garbage bags for an easy mix! I will advise to anyone reading my comment, I did burn up my Blender trying to break down the soap, but that's ok b/c I can replace it. This was def worth it, and the convenience of not having to remember one more thing to purchase has been great. A little pro tip too, white vinegar you can buy in bulk for like $3, is a disinfectant and makes your towels extra soft and fluffy :) I use 2 tablespoons for a full load just to give an idea.

I’ve been using this laundry detergent forever and I love it. I think the people who don’t like it are putting way too much in each load. It’s so strong that a tablespoon really is enough! Thanks! 😊😊😊
