i love that they sing thru the alphabet once but it's so well written that you don't even notice until they give it to you a second time and show the letters. my favorite letters are H and Z, very clever

Hortensia is very intimidating even with a injured arm

Did you notice the entire lyrics started from A and went all the way to Z, incorporating each letter into a word? SUPER clever songwriting there! That's why the name of the song is "school song"

The mimic of “why?” Was on point. I giggled multiple times through this

The location is probably weird to a lot of people these days, but as someone who grew up in the uk, a lot of our schools occupy buildings that have been around for a long time and still have a design reminiscent of a Victorian prison, even when covered up with a fresh lick of paint. This whole film really really nails the setting of England in a particular period of time. Which makes sense, since it's based on a book by a British author.

The movie was simply amazing! School song was my 2 favorite song, my first for sure was: Bruce.

Tim Minchin is a lyrical genius. One of the most clever songs in the whole production

Tim Minchin is an interesting guy and his music and comedy are brilliant. He seems like a person who is full of empathy. Roald Dahl, who wrote the book also leaned into the dark and never shied away from the fact that kids are far more emotionally sophisticated and aware than they’re given credit for. It’s sort of a perfect combination. And she’s just so pure in the way that she performs it.

It's Tim Minchin. _Of course_ it has creative lyrics. Look up some of his stuff. Start with "Rock 'n' Roll Nerd" and "Dark Side", then maybe "Drowned", "If I Didn't Have You", and others.

Everybody is so confident and I think they are really good at blending their voices ❤ it!

You should react to Alisha Weir singing "Naughty" live on the Late Late show in the UK in addition to the scene in the movie. She sounded great!

Something I noticed recently is that the letters always come on the downbeat of the measure! This song is amazing.

Just a small thing, but the why from the girl is the Y in the alphabet. The lyrics from this musical are so so clever, in my opinion one of the best musical lyrics ever made, which should come with no surprise - Tim Minchin is a genious
