Vanessa song in grease live as Rizzo was amazing. Especially when you learned her father passed away a few day before the live action showing. So good!

My theory is that the songs and demos were already written and recorded and they couldn’t modify the songs to work with zac’s vocal range. The parts were written for a tenor voice and Zac is a baritone. Anyways, the melodies are all perfect and I’m glad they made the call they did. Notice how in HSM 2 and 3 Zac’s singing much lower notes. Like the verse in What Time Is It has Zac starting off real deep and low, then Vanessa takes over singing a different melody that is slightly higher, and then for the 2nd verse with Sharpay and Ryan, the whole song goes up a whole tone. That’s just an example of how in the sequels, they knew who they were writing for and for hsm 1, they just did their best with their time, budget and songs that were great as they were.

From what I understand, Zac didn't do the singing in the first High School Musical because he was 17-ish and his voice kept cracking - the second and third movie are all him, though, and personally I actually prefer Troy's voice when Zac is the one actually doing it!

This is long apologies to anyone who actually reads this.

My favorite Drew Seeley did the majority of the singing in HSM 1. He also played Troy full time during the HSM tour that they did alongside the cast. He did A Cinderella Story with Selena Gomez and Lovestruck:The Musical with Chelsea Kane from Fish Hooks, (The Bratz movie) and Jonas (the Jonas Brothers show). Both had great songs.

He has released his own music I suggest Into the Fire and Beautiful. From his Disney cataloge* minus HSM 1 I suggest A Space in the Stars from the Shake It Up soundtrack (Zendaya show), Dance With Me from the Cheetah Girls 2, New Classic from Cinderella Story.

As of the past few years he just finished up Jersey Boys tour and now will start playing the lead of Kinky Boots. If anyone sees this I hope you check out any of his stuff 💜

Zac only sang for the first few lines of 1 or 2 of the songs. Drew Seeley did most of the singing for Troy during the first movie and the Tour. Zac did everything else.

the reason Zac didn't sing most of High School Musical 1 was he couldn't hit the high notes cause the music had been written for a tenor. and then they tailored the other songs to Zac from then on

I really can’t watch Highschool musical without bursting out laughing and crying because I can’t get the Bad Lip Reading version out of my head. I swear, I never will be able to watch this with a straight face ever again. If anyone needs a good laugh, you have to go check it out, it’s hilarious.

You should react to Danna Paola's performance of A Un Beso in Los Premios Juventud!! Danna Paola is a mexican actress and singer since she was 4 years old and shes the pop princess in latin america and she has very good vocals! i think youll enjoy it

Zac Efron sang in 2 & 3. Drew Steeley sang in the first. However Zac did sing the opening of Start of Something new and the next to last “start of something new” towards the bed of the song

I love High School Musical and this is one of my favorite performances and songs from the movie!!😊💖💖 They look great together and have amazing chemistry!! Yes Drew Seeley sang all of Zach’s vocals for the first HSM movie, because Sach was still an inexperienced singer at the time.
