Oh my gosh I'm so glad I found this video. The first 6 times I've tried using this product I failed miserably. The instructions were just too confusing for me. And a physical demonstration was exactly what I needed.

If your new filter works slowly, you might have air bubbles blocking water flow. Tap the pitcher on the counter a couple times while it's filtering, and you should see some bubbles come out of the top

I have been successfully using one of these pitchers for 2 years with the long lasting filter changed approximately every 6 months. Sometimes I need to push the filter down harder. The latest filter was dark blue instead of light blue and I bought it at the grocery store instead on Amazon or Walmart. Perhaps colors have changed. It is made the exact same. It may filter out more. I do not notice any bad taste. There is only me so it may last longer except I do have large and small cooler fans and it is better to use filtered water in those when they are needed.

I shouldn't have spent 22 years working at a product testing lab, because it has made me suspicious of everything. My wife just brought one of these things home, and right away I noticed it appears to be made in its entirety of styrene or polystyrene plastic which a known carcinogen. I find no recycle code anywhere on the product. The only marking I find is a tiny figure 2 embossed, which might indicate HDPE (high density polyethylene) but that doesn't fit the physical characteristics of the product. I looked up the Material Safety Data Sheet online, but that told me nothing about the material of construction except that it conforms to California's Proposition 65, which is pretty stringent. Oh well, I guess I'll go ahead and use it. I would welcome a comment to this note.

The 6 month filter lines up with the groove in my pitcher but the filter floats quite often because there is nothing to secure it in place. It’s very disappointing to refill the pitcher only to find that the filter came loose. It’s quite easy to tell when the filter hasn’t stayed in place because our tap water has a very distinctive taste.

Please only use the regular filters. The long lasting filters and the double long lasting filters are bacteria spawning ground. The inside will stay wet and large (visible to the human eye) bacteria spots can be seen. I recommend using the regular filter and throwing them out in 2-4 weeks.

BRITA if i'm wrong let me know. I guess the visible bacteria I saw could be cloreine or something else from the water. But judging by the fact they are circular shapes, I'm certain it's bacteria growth.

How far down do i need to push the filter? It's only like a 1/2cm down in mine is that enough?

I purchased the elite filters. Two of the six filters in the pack would not pop into place. They constantly floated and would not seal. How do I contact Brita for two replacement filters? These are not inexpensive and I’d like to be reimbursed.

It should not be running right through like that, especially that fast (even half as fast). It means it's not actually filtering. Filtering takes time so the slower it goes the more chemicals it's filtering & the better it's filtering.

Why is my filter baby blue instead of dark blue, I got the longlast aswell

There’s absolutely no way you could get it to filter that quickly. This ridiculous filter goes one drop at a time.

Yeah no, the filters do NOT stay in place, the often just float up and that allows unfiltered water to bypass the filter. No recommended and I give up on this POS
