That first guy was an absolute genius, props to the professor for taking it like a champ

At first Taco Bell was indeed following what a taco was by mexican standars, but then they were adquired by Pepsico and they changed it all completly, turning it into what is today. After that they tried to come to Mexico, but it failed in the long run for competing against authentic tacos. Here in Mexico you find taco stands of anything almost everywhere and they serve them fast enough to be considered fast food, and most importantly, not as expensive as a fast food chain restaurant.

Story 2: So what was their plan? To just replace OP with a newbie with lower pay to save money? TBH I have no idea how they thought it would work, what a bunch of idiots

Story 1: Baha i love funny wholesome stories like this. No abuse, no assholes, just a funny story where a student gets the respect of a teacher lool

Story 3: The fact this guy tried to pin the blame on OP and the group that they never booked or whatever is just stupid. You forgot? You have places to be? Welp, not their problem, mate, if you hadn't yelled at OP and come up with a compromise, this wouldn't have happened.

OP did cripple their former workplace but honestly the company ended themselves through sheer stupidity.

Story 3: the professor should have had a timer set for the presenters to see. And when it went off he should have ended the group currently up in favor of the next group. If they couldn't get their presentation done in the time allowed then they deserved a lower grade for not following the rules.

What kind of a DA sends off something they had sold without checking they got the money first?

Story two is why you should never be loyal to a company who's not loyal to you.

Laptop Story: I would have went to the AH Manager then and there and said while following the directive to not talk to this guy about it, that he got in my face and started screaming, making me feel 'Unsafe' and see where that went.

Story 1: I reckon the teacher probably does that every year just to see if anybody follows the letter of the law rather than the spirit. Lawyers like to point out that clients followed the letter and that the spirit isn't legally binding. Elsewhere we call these "loopholes" and "grey areas".

Story4: I would have just told the dude "When you tattled like a child on me to management, they told me not to talk about anything but work to you. This wasn't work related. This was your personal finances, coincidentally the same thing i got chewed out for "being nosy about." Now kindly shove off."

Followed swiftly by "I guess you can take the canny of your "canny older generation" spiel.

Last story reminds me of my own experience.

I was hired as an Associate Practitioner in the pandemic for the mass testing labs in the UK. My employer decided to bring in someone new rather than promote one of us to the specialist role...
Long story short, they didn't last long as they kept threatening us with pay cuts (which you can't do in the NHS) for taking too long a break when our breaks were 15 minutes and it took us 5 minutes to change out of our PPE and another 5 minutes to make it to the break room, plus another 5 minutes to get back and change into our gear (15 minutes total), so really we were given 25 minutes and everyone else would pick up the slack for that short time (as it always had been).

When it got to the stage of the pay cuts threats, we all stormed out and let them deal with it. The cherry on top was, despite the specialist being there for 3 months, they weren't signed off to use the machines yet and so, whilst we said we would do our jobs, we said we wouldn't do them WITH HER, she was particularly mean to the women from what I've heard (in the end, she was 5k samples short per day of her target which was 10k i.e. she wasn't hitting half her targets). Cue within a month, she left (to her own accord we don't know), despite the fact my employer heard me talking bad about her and didn't say a word to me... and what's better is, when the lab was closed (and re-opened 2 months later), they brought me back and not her...

Sweet sweet revenge!

Stpry 2: "they only lasted a year and I think i contributed to that."

Oh, you definitely did. Firing op set them back very, very far. Like, back to the start.

As a teacher, I have to admire kids that think laterally like this. I do much the same. Fair enough this time, moving forward no more, depending

Story 5: I get his frustration with the circumstances, but at least let Tommy finish so he doesn’t have to throw out extra money and wait some more weeks.

Would have loved to have seen the professor in story 3 get ripped a new one for his poor scheduling/forgetting what was setup by whoever he had to call cause he deserved that for being an ass to OP thanks & forgetting OP's group before failing to lie/promise a reschedule out of this situation.(Maybe someone else ripping him a new one if not whoever he called)

Also kind of hope the guy from the Nigerian laptop scam story doesn't live this down & is reminded that OP warned him repeatedly before being threatened so it's the guy's own fault. He may have yelled at OP over this but I'm sure people that are brave enough will hold this over his head so he gets the message & the answer OP chose not to say
