Need a new headset? We bought the number one best-seller on Amazon, the Bengoo G9000, to find out once again why EVERYONE is buying this thing. Is it a good deal, or a waste of money?

Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.

Hey, if you're doing this "why is everyone buying x" series, what about a series "why is nobody buying x" where you look for products (or that the team already knows) that are very underrated, although requiring more work than this series and would most likely be a niche I think it could be interesting.

My biggest concern with a lot of these Amazon best-selling products is that their 10s of thousands of ratings are almost always extremely misleading. Many/most of these smaller cheap Chinese brands is that they somehow re-use/recycle listings for products while keeping the total ratings of the older products. I can't even tell you how many times I've looked at a product that was essentially brand new and had thousands or tens of thousands of positive reviews, where many of the reviews were quite clearly for a different product altogether. I really with Amazon would do something about this because it is the epitome of ratings-manipulation and dishonest business practice. Buyer beware...

Loving that LTT are reviewing cheaper products and not automatically ruling them out because they're cheap or an unknown brand. Please keep up this series as this could really help out kids buy their first gaming gear or those of us who have a tighter budget. Nice job guys, please keep up the good work 😁

Having frequency response graphs for budget audio tech is great, I hope you can do more of it in the future.
Its one of the first things I check when trying to gauge how good things sound but the few sites that report them generally only cover audiophile level gear

Hey, just wanted to say thank you for including frequency response graphs in your headphone reviews now. I love objectivity in the audio space.

I love how charitable Linus becomes to the products in this series despite mostly being used to high end gear. Understanding the value/price ratio has to be one of Linus 's finest qualities

I love this format. However, if you recommend alternatives, I would love to see the data on audio response and also test of that mic the same. Not long, but just quick flashes that show what makes it "better." Great information, as always.

This kind of review like that is great specially with the "but you can get something significantly better with X amount extra", really useful for anyone wanting to buy this stuff. I hope you guys could get that covering more stuff (even if it is just something written on the website or something like that).

I’d love LTT to do a behind the scenes breakdown of just how well these ‘most popular on Amazon’ videos do compared to others. Especially as they seem to have a cheaper cost than others.
Nice one folks!

Hey Linus, just wanted to provide some feedback for the blue headset, I actually had that headset and still do, however it hurt my ears if I wore it for long periods of time. Also the mic volume was always quite quiet, due to the mic being so far away and not adjustable. Something the manufacturer doesn't tell you as well is the blue foam on the time does disintegrate over time, to the point of constantly getting blue plastic in my hair and is also deemed not worth reselling, believe me I have tried. This is just from my experience with the headset, so you can use this info as you wish

Love the set for this video! Warm yellow background takes me to the 2000s for some reason.

Cool to see them making new content now that the labs is set up, looking forward to more headset coverage!

Love seeing the stuff the lab does slowly creeping into content. Excited to see what is coming.

Love pieces like this, as we all know the quality of accessories for gaming is highly variable, and often mainstream big-brand products are priced way over their actual worth. While in this particular case since I have fairly large ears I'm probably not going to purchase this particular headset, I think it's great to point out value products that are affordable. I had a mouse go out on me recently and I had happened to watch the LTT video on a cheap Logitech mouse, ordered the exact same one (at a tenth of the cost of the one I was replacing), and it worked just as well for my needs. Similarly, I grabbed a redragon mechanical (blue switches) keyboard for about $40, and it is quite simply the best keyboard I've ever used. I have EVGA's optical/mechanical board, a $140 Corsair board, and this blows both out of the water, and the build quality feels very solid. You don't always have to throw big money around to get a good product, and the more attention that can be brought to such products, the better. In a world of increasingly normalized $1k+ GPUs, it just makes sense to not blow your wallet on everything else in your build. Not a lot channels routinely review low-end accessories, and I wish more did; you can find some real crap sitting right next to the solid value products in stores. I'm not going to select an apparent no-name $20 part if I can't find any trustworthy reviews on it. So basically: more of this please! :) These reviews are very helpful.

I picked up a surprisingly great Fosmon branded headset for $22 CDN. It's got the same dual-cable scheme, plus a breakout Y connector for splitting mic and audio if you so desire, and the materials are surprisingly premium. I picked it up for a one-off Back 4 Blood session on XB1 (I mean, it was Back 4 Blood, of course it was a one-off...), and I've continued to use it on my XB1 for games where I wanna have the soundtrack up close and personal, like Shredder's Revenge and Hydro Thunder Hurricane.

I had a different badged version of these prior to being gifted some $500 headphones from work. The cable casing frayed over time, and they weren't particularly comfortable to wear for long periods, but they got the job done. For $20, they're an amazing deal if you just need something that works and works adequately.

They weren't so bad that I felt like I needed to throw them away when I got the upgrade. I still used them on my gaming PC for a year or so.

i had one of these with another name on it like 10 years ago. Another thing to note is that the mic mute and volume control seem to be handy, but its just a pot and a switch. As such they tend to oxidize and start crackling, which is especially annoying for your buddies on discord or teamspeak. And i can guarantee you that theres no noise canceling whatsoever. Also the earmuffs tend to hurt after a couple hours.

I had an older version of these for many years. The sound was great and fit my head pretty well. Although after a few hours, they killed my ears. Plus, I wore glasses and the ear cups were not made for it. I switched to an Astro headset with fabric/padded ear cups, and the difference was staggering. After awhile I tried the Bengoo ones again to compare and couldn’t believe I wore them as long as I did. And yeah, I never used the LEDs.

I remembered having Redragon Zeus 2 headsets in this price range mid-pandemic, and it has an amazing sound quality. It contains two removable wires, 1 wire for 3.5mm plug, and 1 for usb plugs. The sound curve and mic input can be edited and it can sound like those logitech ones and can make your voice sound like you're in a studio.
