It's amazing how a decent FHD monitor was about this price in 2010. And it still is.

As much as I love seeing cutting edge technology can do, these videos that show off how great budget parts are these days are amazing.

Another option to consider as far as cheap monitors go is to buy refurbished office monitors, because there you can even find 1080p monitors for about half of what this monitor in the video costs. And you often tend to get better monitor stands (hight adjustable) which might save you having to buy a VESA stand.

I would like to note they have basically this same exact monitor with an IPS panel for the same price that I purchased to use as a monitor for my Raspberry Pi that I run Steam Link and RetroPie and I haven't noticed any tearing or smearing. I can easily play Halo competitively with it. Minimal latency and visually feels fantastic. Yes, there are better options, but the one I have was $98 with an IPS panel and it looks great. I also basically have the same monitor as an ultra wide for my actual PC and I love it. Edit: Model number is E249W-FPT

With the lab ramping up with testing please publish more of these videos. One of my favorite series you guys create.

I love this coverage of the lower end monitor market. I think it’d be great if LTT did a coverage of non “name brand” brands like sceptre for their high end monitors; since they make higher end monitors but its sceptre.

I love that the team is doing a deep dive into reviews like this. Huge value add to the videos

What I really like is that portable white case pc. They have a video about that case or anyone know what model is it?

I would love to see a "best bang for the buck" video for monitors, going through the different resolutions and refresh rates.

I’ve always found Sceptre to be a very decent value brand for secondary/tertiary monitors when you catch them on sale. I would almost never use one of their products for my primary gaming monitor myself because I can personally afford a little extra for something a bit nicer, but for something that just needs to display info, chats, a now playing screen, etc etc. they’re almost always solid enough for the price you pay, consistently on sale, and if it’s all you can afford, you can certainly do worse. Before I set up a triple monitor setup for sim games, I used two to display chats and videos I had on for background noise and if I didn’t upgrade I coulda kept going with them.

That intro alone deserves a thumbs up, really fun and engaging way to fix up the show formula, appreciate that!

Maybe worth trying what I've done with my BenQ GW2770 - Although windows only gives it 50 and 60Hz options, you can actually push it to 74Hz if you create a custom profile in GeForce Control (great for 24Fps films etc!). Yes it is rated for it, but maybe worth be giving a shot with some "60Hz only" monitors to see if it's possible to overclock them 😂

Props on the relatively unique opening. Definitely a standout from what is already some of the best produced tech content on this website. Thought it was really well executed. Hope this doesn’t sound dumb, it’s the small things that get me! 😅

It never ceases to amaze me how much monitor tech has improved in the last 5-6 years.

That Acer model that was shown for $89.99 that's 21.5 inches actually is 75hz too. I have had one for years and it's an absolutely amazing monitor. IPS, beautiful color saturation, and supports FreeSync.

I really enjoy these videos with products more for regular folks. I’ve used your recommendations to buy my parents (69 years old… nice) stuff that’s good and they’ll appreciate but don’t need overkill.

Plouffe, that whole section about "Other Monitors" was absolute gold. Definitely got to the heart of the reason people are buying these monitors while also giving great suggestions and reasons behind other options at +/- different price points!
