I have the newest version of this like you. It works pretty good, but does have some disadvantages. First, you have to have a good cellular signal for this to work. In my garage it does not. I have to wait until I drive away from my house for it to connect. Second, the device will attempt to stay connected to your phone at all times. When I am in the house, it will continuously attempt to connect to CarPlay and I will lose my home Wi-Fi connection to my phone. As a result, I have to disconnect the device from my phone’s Wi-Fi signal and unplug it from my usb port in the Tesla. It is not a big deal, but definitely not as seamless as implied. Since Tesla has Apple Music, I only use this device when I need Waze or want to listen to Apple Music. I had the Hansshow 9” display before, but returned it because of the same Wi-Fi connection issues at home. You could not disconnect the device, so it always caused issues. I prefer this device, but it is not perfect.

My order came, plug it in, worked as advertised. Will see how it works when driving. Waze is what I was after. Let’s see.

unlike the T2C unit that is still a bit buggy and will disconnect randomly and occasionally refuses to connect at all, the Ownice connects and stays connected >98% of the time. Only downside is screen refresh rate is a little slower than T2C due to higher image quality (therefore has to stream more data). I wish Ownice gave us a little more control over this tradeoff.

can you show what happens to all the tesla build in apps when you are connected to this device's wifi, i would think they loose their internet connection, unless... the car is connected to the wifi of the Carlink and the Carlink is connected to the hotspot of the iphone.

Hello: can you do a demo of Ownice T3? This product is similar to the Carlink but can also "cast" from the iPhone. The Carlink does not have this feature. There are very few people talking about this product. In my opinion, it may be better than the Carlink. I am trying to get an unit; hesitating because the product description is not compatible with Tesla with NVDA chipset???!!

I own the same device and it works very well. One slight issue is sometimes I have to unplug the box and plug it back in to power cycle. Then it will reconnect to my tesla screen

I regularly drive a ton of miles with multiple stops during the day so I rely on Tesla Navigation to do the math and routing for Supercharging. I am most curious about how the Tesla Apps work in the background while CarPlay is running. I would love to see you switch in and out of CarPlay while you are driving. If Tesla Navigation works in the background, and you are using Waze in CarPlay, do you hear audio directions from both? I pay for Premium Connectivity on my Model Y. Will that still work and be recognized while this device is connected?

I miss CarPlay from my previous vehicle but if switching in and out of CarPlay while I'm driving is going to require connecting and disconnecting from hotspot or jumping through some other hoops...just not sure yet.
