What data plan is being used phone or hotspot? Does this disable the premium plan, to where I can't stream from Tesla?

This is a third party solution it has nothing to do with Tesla offering Car play or android auto. And requires third party
hardware.

Robert got the unit yesterday and installed it today on my 2022 Model S long range. The device was already up to date and setting browser and getting it to run via phone bluetooth was a breeze.

The only negative is that it does not autostart every time i get in the car. No biggie, i just start typing web address and it prefills and starts to work. Thx

I have that device and I had to stop using it because the connection is not stable, it constantly disconnects and you have to refresh again to reconnect, for me it is not useful, it is a headache,

Wow that lag is abysmal zero reliably for google earth not a safe option ...yeah ill stick with my cancelled apple tv and netflix subscription and just pay for premium connectivity...(Netflix and apple tv are free for T-Mobile anyways)

Purchased the mobile hotspot version and would NOT recommend.

Cons:
- Tesla native apps won’t have connection anymore until the car is disconnected from the module by turning off the WiFi. Tesla navigation would not report live traffic data. Apple Music would but would take legit a minute to load a song. (My cellular connection is 111Mbs down so not a coverage issue)

- Phone over heats since it requires WiFi, Bluetooth, and Mobile hotspot to be active. (This is when wireless charging which is a bit contributor to the heat)

Pros:
- Auto connected each time entering the car (have to open the browser on the car obviously)

- In fast response mode, it’s not too laggy. Waze was a bit jittery though.
