Great tips Mike, it’s definitely a challenge when you find yourself in a new place to establish that trust but you’re exactly right. Humbling yourself and asking questions will help establish that trust by showing you are human and you aren’t coming in to create chaos by acting like you know everything

Hey Sir, this is one of the best pieces of information on Leadership and Management that I’ve ever heard in my life. Thank you very much!

I am 19 and I just got promoted to a shift manager at the pizza place I’m employed at. I’ve worked very hard to get here but this topic is one of the issues I’ve encountered. Because my performance is better than my coworkers I was promoted before people who have worked there much longer than I have. And now my friends are now people that I have to direct and it’s a little troubling for me. One of the employees is giving me a little attitude about my direction and I’m not sure how to deal with it but these videos have really been helping.

#1. Get to know people, legitimately. Don't be fake or cheesy.
#2. Make necessary changes, but RESPECT the culture. Take the time to understand why things are done that way, before you change anything.
#3. Support and collaborate. Show your team you're invested in their success. Asking for help can lead to loyalty and trust.
#4. Frequently and transparently communicate with your team. Figure out how your team likes to receive and give feedback.

20 year old back of house restaurant supervisor in 1 month. Everyone is older than me... My work ethic and efficiency in the kitchen got me the position. Managing older employees who have been here longer is what scares me. To make things worse, I will be getting more work thus more pay than my future fellow supervisors. They trained me from dishwasher to prep to line cook...

Sir I believe i owe you some mind to say thanks. As i have recently been going through this transition into the “Lead “ position im also conflicted in an older coworker’s general behavior since becoming lead . A lot of the other videos I’ve seen were quite the rubbish so you provided me some good insight and I thank you.

I stepped into a leadership position recently as a 19 year old, about 1 1/2 years experience. There're 3 older vets who've been around 11+ years. They have all been pamperd from past managers by getting to run equipment all day and refuse to step in a truck and do some lifting when needed. Very big obstacle for me when it comes to enforcing them with my age.

20 recently got promoted tho still training but ive done what everyone else doesnt do and Iearned fast so i got the position, however no one even tries to listen to me, i work at a fast food restaurant and corporate only wants a certain amount of food in the trays, but ever since i joined everyone DOUBLES whats supposed to be in the tray because they dont want to keep dropping food or waiting on it even after the GM told them not to. I tried to ask them not to but they just lsughed and mocked me or flatout not listen at all. What do i do in this situation?

This is my case but I understand people perception of anxiety to changes, I spoke to them 1-1 and told em straight up I have an idea about the rules, but I need their support to guide me, second, any promise I make, I tried my best to fulfill. Last but not least getting my own hands dirty, genuine humbleness goes a long way to build trust. Also listening to their complaint must be listened with patience. Simulate the idea that they are your blood ! You all can do this but do it with authenticity !
