#62 Dr. Karen Lamb on Trauma and Highly Sensitive People
Показать описание
Today we are joined by Dr. Karen Lamb. We chat with her about trauma and highly sensitive people. We cover:
- How trauma (both big and small) can affect us, and add up cumulatively over time
- The role genetics can play in PTSD, Trauma, and being a highly sensitive person
- Signs, symptoms, or behaviors that someone affected by trauma may exhibit
- If trauma responses can be episodic or is it more of a chronic steady state?
- If somebody can heal from trauma when they are still dealing with acute stress
- If healing from trauma is something you will always have to actively work on, or if someday you can truly move past it
- Which therapies are most effective for trauma?
- Are there things we can do on our own to down-regulate our trauma responses?
- The definition of a "highly sensitive person" (HSP) and the signs and symptoms to look for
- Daily good practices for HSP's
- Best approaches to parenting a (HSP) child
- Books and resources to learn more about HSP
