Most of the time, we just want our parents to be proud of us. Some wealthy parents don’t see any problem with using the resources they’ve accumulated to help their kids. Other wealthy parents are a little more hardcore. I could even say WAY MORE hardcore.

Coming from wealthier Caribbean parents, they value morals and work ethic.

I’ve chosen the harder route to prove to them that I can do it. Yes, it’s nice knowing that there’s an inheritance waiting for me at the end of the road, but I force myself to forget about it.

I admit, starting from zero is really, really hard, but it’s going to be way, way, way more rewarding.
