Just over 1.5 years ago, I was very dissatisfied with my job. I never wanted to go in, was bored stiff during hours and craved every minute not working. I decided to basically do all this. I sought out a mentor who would allow me an internal rotation of a year to a new department (discomfort), and had him help me set up (new goals) and keep me accountable(refuse indulgence in self-pity). His help, as well as the new team members helped me along the way to (overcome my inner critic), and set (new challenges).
I've always been one to (admit my mistakes) and (see value in critique), and they've helped me so much in (focussing on solutions). In speaking with everyone I became a better person in many aspects, and decided to hand in my resignation in March 2022 (it's Dec '22 at time of writing). Started a new job at a different place in a department I always wanted to work in, and haven't had a moment's doubt left in me. Alux, you always come through for me, your videos are gold mines when taken with a good amount of personal reflection and tweaking to your own circumstances

When it comes to quitting, in the 8 years I spent teaching I've left schools that were unsupportive and filled with negative people. I never saw this as a failure because I know my worth, and a terrible workplace does not deserve my time, energy, and effort. It's a draining process trying to find a school with a positive culture, which I could call home, so I left for a government job that cares deeply about my personal and professional growth. And I love what I do!.... To all who feel lost in life, you will be found :)

#1 is one I have experienced and actually LOVED! To show my Preparedness and Survival Skills clients I could do it at 67 years young, I moved into a tent in the western North Carolina mountains by myself for 6 months until it hit 17 degrees! #16 I just experienced as I shut down my Preparedness and Survival Skills consulting business last night after 23 years of eight books in the niche and numerous media appearances!

This is amazing. I'm in my uncomfort zone; all new place people things entirely and feel vulnerable even weak sometimes.. so this empowers me 🥳 thank you for keeping me focused and fiercely confident!!

Wow, another great batch of advice and faceted viewpoints to see your way out of the malaise of weaklings and mediocrity all around. I used to avoid hard work and headache-inducing learning, until I realized they are the very materials to create something valuable! I also love the view that you can benefit from almost anything good or bad that happens: after some time, you will roll around like a diamond amongst so much coal dust.

I quit my toxic job in May with no other offer in sight. It was a tough decision but the best decision I've made in 2022. I've been able to bag 2 professional certifications and learnt a lot of technical skills for Data Analytics.

*_If You Know This, You Will Succeed Whatsoever_*

Successful people maintain a positive focus in life no matter what is going on around them.
Stay focused and stay determined. Don’t look to anyone else to be your determination, have self-determination. It will take you very far.

I'm so glad there's Alux. It's like we have our own mentor that's always there.

Strong people don't shy away from difficult conversations - they face them head on. They don't take things personally, meaning they can separate their feelings from the facts and approach arguments with rationality instead of emotion. They build strong relationships by investing in their loved ones and making sure their voices are heard. And lastly, strong people don't get overwhelmed by mistakes; instead, they own up to what didn't work and learn from it.

Comparing yourself to others can be positive when it's used for motivational purposes. It's only bad when it's something that can be fixed i.e. I'm 5'3" and my classmate is 6'4", 'm inadequate.

I’ve had my fair share of family members who were cruel to me. But I didn’t hold a grudge I moved on and made amends. It’s not worth being bitter or angry. It’s called forgiveness. I would rather be successful instead of unhappy and taking it out on others by being cruel.
