Whenever a black or brown person is affected by crime, we are told that our outraged should be magnified. As if human lives are not equal....

What does "cracking down" entail? Does it mean someone will actually show up at the place of the theft, look and say, "Yep, looks like it was stolen, sucks to be you. Gee, thats gotta hurt. Well, good luck" and make a report before going home?

Why don't they come down on scrap yard's who buy it without verifying if the even have the right to sell it. They know better.

Require a business license to recycle copper, and a bill of sale for a new catalytic converter or proof the vehicle has been scrapped.
