Thank you so much dude. I spent like an hour trying to trap the thing in a normal gate only trap, but it got out before I managed to close the door (every time) and then killed me. I got really frustrated and looked up your trap. Took me long enough to build it and tame a Pteranodon but damn, I trapped the Griffin first try. Worth it.

You could also use the argy trap which is just 4 stone dino gateways with 2 reinforced dino gates on either side. The gates should be placed in a way that the gap is enough for you to go through. Its less expenisve and can be unlocked early.

I used the trap and it worked in just a couple passes while riding my argy, I definitely recommend trying it

Soooo I built the trap, tamed a pteranodon, and got a griffin to chase me. (Ragnarok map)
Had the doors facing inward, but the trap still worked! Thank you for this!

You can just aim straight up with the bird and spyglass downwards to the back of it. That way the wing's not in the way.

I've always made a very similar trap only with pillars and one dino gate. I like this design much better and will be using it in the future.

Hey Steve, I love your videos, I'm not sure if you have done it before, but I think something that might be helpful to new players would be a quick condensed guide on the progression path to take to complete the island for example. As in some kind of order of steps on what you need to do the caves and boss fights to move onto the next map.

I used the trap design on single player. Resources were not a problem. I added a pressure plate to close the doors. Worked perfectly. I was underwhelmed with the flying speed of griffins but love that you can shoot while flying.
