World War Z: Injecting the virus

What’s happening in this World War Z clip?
Gerry (Brad Pitt) managed to find the virus he was looking for. According to him, people infected with such deadly viruses are no longer targeted by zombies. However, Gerry won’t have time to get back with the substance and analyze it since he’s cornered by a zombie. He now has no choice but to test his theory on the spot.

What’s World War Z about?
Former United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt), his wife (Mireille Enos) and their two children enjoy a normal day together when they witness the outbreak of a massive zombie attack on Philadelphia. After escaping the panic stampede generated by the attack, the Lanes take refuge in an apartment complex in Newark. They then receive the help of Gerry’s old friend, deputy Secretary-General Thierry Umutoni (Fana Mokoena) who sends a helicopter to rescue them and put them in safety with another family. However, their rest doesn’t last as the place is soon being attacked by zombies. After joining their building’s roof, the Lanes are saved by a helicopter that takes them to a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier off the coast of New York City with a whole group of other refugees. On board, a team of scientists and military personnel are analyzing the scope of the worldwide outbreak. A virologist, Dr. Andrew Fassbach (Elyes Gabel), argues that the plague is a virus, whose origin must be found in order for a vaccine to be developed. Because of his expertise as a former UN investigator, Gerry is tasked with helping Fassbach find the outbreak's source.

everyone's saying how great the zombie actor is without giving due props by saying WHO he is, so I will: Michael Jenn. a theater actor that Pitt apparently approved himself after the initial pool of actors was reduced to a handful

Brad Pitt was brilliant in this role. He was not trying to prove anything or show off - he played a very simple, realistic character.

Brad Pitt said literally nothing but still managed to make us feel that he is sacrificing himself for all or nothing, you can really feel the emotions of the zombie and Brad in this scene...

the only thing that has always bugged me quite a bit with this scene is that you hear the camera move at 0:18 and he has a whiteboard and pen, so why not just tell them "shake the camera if I should inject this one" and hold different ones up to the camera

Didn't realize Peter Capaldi was in this so I looked up the cast, and he's credited as WHO Doctor #3 and that's hilarious to me.

Nobody going to say that Zombies who can detect terminally ill patients just by sniffing or sight is amazing on it's own?! Imagine being able to detect early stages of cancer... Could save millions of lives
