We used these in the 70's to reduce flies in composting manure. Helped--along with aeration and traps.

Would a sprayer work better ?? Yes it take longer to apply but it's going to be more evenly applied. Keep up the great job.

Can't you use Lye? The hydroxide would breakdown any hydrocarbons and if you over do it just aerate. Plus, you would be adding sodium to the soil for fertalizer keeping in mind caustic soda would form. Up to 4% is safe for most plants and root systems. Not to mention cheap(er?).

It can't hurt but the dose was too small for that volume of soil to be effective.

I understand that nematodes are actually bad for honey bees so let any honeybee Keepers know that you're putting potting soil in their area with nematodes in it
