VIN is 1FA for US produced Ford passenger car, B for active restraint system, P28 for GT hatchback, M for 5.0 V8 with fuel injection (MFI), next is a check digit, G is for the 1986 model year, F is for Dearborn, MI assembly and the rest is the production sequence.

I found the exact same car but a faded red orange color for $1400 at a towyard in about 2012. It had bbk cold air, bbk shorties, and a cam. I felt like shit being a broke teenager without a way to buy it. Thanks for reminding me about another one that got away.

It doesn't look like it's ever been hit. That's a plus. And that's a good platform to start from.

I had a 85, same colors inside and out . Very good car, carburetor and 5 speed and I think it was 273 gear in the rear. I drove it a lot from Tn to Ohio and Indiana and always got between 29 and 30 mpg.

I've always loved the Halo Headrests...

If this thing was local id have to drag it home and ask the wife for forgiveness later. I used to have the cleanest 86 around my way.

It appears to be all there besides the oil cap. Good spot for nest.

86 first year for efi. 85-86 only style I like, like the 94-95’s class by themselves

I've always liked the instrument dash on these models. Those seats were comfortable. I owned 6 of the 4 eye mustangs. Kinda miss driving like a a-hole.

If it was an 85 and not a hatch back I’d be the owner. Rare rare rare car to find

I love the early Foxbody Mustangs!... Someone could get that 4eyed running without spending a lot of money. I'm putting a 363 SBF/6 speed Magnum in my black '85 GT (bought it new in April 1985!) to get it back on the road. Been sitting in my garage since '95.

As long as the torque boxes and strut towers are clean that's not just a that's a cheap Easy project!!, probably could get it on the road in no time!!!! 5.0 cars are getting hard to come by (especially stock) and bringing good money nowadays

Looks like this one could still be saved since it has a price on it.. This era Mustang is being collectability.

Awesome little lightweight hotrod or drag car potential.
