1986 Mustang GT Junkyard Find

1986 Mustang GT Junkyard Find. Someone junked another fox body mustang. This time its an 86 four eyed GT Convertible with some NOS parts still inside. Looks like they were trying to restore it a while back and then life happened. Now it found its way into the junkyard and soon will meet the crusher. She was mostly all there and wasn't in too bad of shape outside or interior, all things considered. Under the hood the 5.0 looked to be all there and in original condition.

VIN is 1FA for US assembled Ford Motor Company, B for manual restraints, P27 for Mustang GT convertible, M for 5.0 "HO" 302 fuel injected V8, 7 is a check digit, G for 1986 model year, F for Dearborn, MI assembly plant and the rest is the production sequence. Yup, looks like someone started collecting parts for it, then put it aside. Now it's a hooptie-do.

GT’s came in with leather recaro seating.

Can remember when these were brand new, EVERYONE wanted one of these, hope somebody can save it.

Neighbor had an 87 red on red convertible 5 speed LX w the 5.0 for sale for nearly 3 yrs. He had NOS seats frt and rear, complete units, to go with the car. It needed a top and new seals.. That was it. New clutch, new pedal linkage, new self adjuster, new exhaust, new brakes, new p/s pump, new water pump, new ign. module, and more. He wanted 3 grand for it. No one wanted it. His wife finally sent it to the crusher during the clunkers for cash days. Shame. The car was rust free!
