I love how INFP is just in their own category. 😂 we're eternal.

How did I just know that the INFP could not be categorised as anything other than a paradoxical loop? Once again, FJ, you seem to have fully understood how we INFPs view ourselves and the world.👏👏👏

As an INFP, I can confirm that you're 100% correct. I'm pretty much everywhere on the age scale depending on the situation and my emotions lol

As an INTP, I kinda feel like we appear like we age backward. We’re very mature for our age when we’re younger and then eventually there’s a crossover and we’re still perpetual children even as adults.

My best friend is a very stereotypical INFP. She has a lot of childlike interests and often acts like a 13 year old (she's actually 19), but when someone hurts her feelings, her morals or her interests, she becomes the most mature and wisest person in the room. She's childish on the outside, maybe to cope with her problems, but is internally extremely mature.

As an INFP I can confirm.. I have been told, that I am an old soul living in a wrong century AND I have been told that im immature and I have to grow up. I was genuinely expecting Frank to divide INFPs into ancient and baby. Life would be easier for us it we could actually take some kind of benefit from both sides of maturity, it is more likely used against us. We are either too "boring" and not wanting to join in on other people´s fun activities, or acting childish and super silly and doing random goofy things, which makes people uncomfortable, why are we so silly when your not 10 anymore, and why are we so bored and uninterested, when we are not 70. It is sure a journey.

As an INFP, I was pleasantly surprised and honored to be given that much consideration and having a category just for my type.
Like yes, I do act like a child, but I feel much older on the inside. It's just that, I don't think anyone would believe me if I say I'm mature unless I act like it, and it's just hard. I was half expecting to be put in baby section but I'm so glad that someone actually acknowledged our (atleast mine) true mental age.

... did you just imply that INFP's are some kind of ouroboros infinity loop of senile, child-like elders? That mentally, I am both too old AND too young to responsibly watch a pg-13 movie by myself without uncontrollably bursting into tears? How DARE, sir! We will (probably not) talk about this after my naptime!!!

As someone who is about as INFP as possible, this could not have been more accurate. I recently had to write a memoir of my adolescence for an education class focusing on the adolescent, and I basically came to the conclusion that I feel like I have simultaneously been an adult since I was 5, and yet am still very much a sensitive child in my 20s, and I am not entirely if I ever had an adolescence, or if I am just going to be perpetually stuck in adolescence because I feel like I am both an adult and a child at the same time.

I am an INFJ and I clicked this video out of pure curiosity. I have to admit I started rolling from laughter when you categorized my personality type in 'ancient' and brought up the e-mail bit, because my social media is literally filled with a bunch of (re)posts of inspirational and motivational quotes, tutorials, relaxing scenery, helpful tips, cute things that make people smile, etc. In my case, you totally nailed it 😂

Frank, those last few minutes about the INFP were way deeper than I thought they'd be, and honestly I'm so glad someone said it for me. I've literally felt EXACTLY like that - so young at heart, yet...so, so old. On the surface, we might seem pretty naive and oblivious to a lot of things, but deep inside of us, we have an entire world with dark places that so many people haven't even begun to explore yet.

My family's mental ages:
Me (INTJ) = ~ 40 years
Son (INTP) = ~ 21 years
Husband (INFJ) = ~ 1000 years
Home atmosphere = relentlessly intense

As an INFP myself, I KNEW they were going to be difficult to categorize here... we are somehow both like a child that is first experiencing the wonders of the world, yet also an ancient poet who has wisdom gathered from many years in nature...

yet also like a depressed emo teen 😭xD

EDIT: HAHAH the ending was perfect oml

As an INFP I think that our position being both the oldest and youngest really fits. I do constantly have my head in the clouds and act kind of childish but since I was younger I realized I had more adult-like thoughts than most kids my age. I don't know how or why but it really does feel just right to be both the youngest and the oldest in terms of mental age.

As an INFJ who loves a suspected INFP very much. I wholeheartedly agree. They really are capable of childlike wonder and openness and the maturity and single-mindedness of old age at the same time.^^

"Life is not a straight line but an endless circle" You took us on a roller coaster ride and land us eventually on a wisdom field.
Frank is the best one to make a closing scene 😎👍

INFP is accurate as always. I act like I'm 12 and feel like I'm 70. And everything in between at all times

This is my favorite of all your explanations of INFP! Cryer, goofball, AND deep thinker. No wonder I have a hard time figuring out what mental age I am. Thanks for this video to help me understand better!

As an INFP I was at a party this summer and someone said they weren't sure if I was 21 or 21, 000, so I can confirm that you got it right.
