Nice documentary video about the earth and other planets in the milky-way galaxy.
For kids who are interested in learning Geography and Astrophysics this is how to remember the order of arrangements of the planets : My Very Earth Mother Just Served Us Nine Pies. (Mecury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus Neptune and Pluto).
Recent studies about the planets according to Astronomers shows that the planet Pluto is removed from the group because it virtually disappeared from vicinity.

The thing i asked my physics teacher once is, "why are the planets in a 2 dimensional plane and not in 3 dimensions". He said it might have something to do with properties that arose from when the universe came into existence (or something like that, its been a while). But i always found that an interesting question.

Hypothetical question.. if you could throw a rock at the black hole, would it go "straight" into the black hole, or would it go on sort of a "curved" path, due to how heavily distorted spacetime around the black hole is - so we might perceive that "straight line path" as curved?

I looked up, “does the moon revolve?” The answer is, “yes”. The reason we see the same side is because it’s tidal rotation. Linked to the earth’s tides. In Asia the moon looks different than in the US.

When it is noon the hands on my watch are aligned to both point at 12. That is what people mean by planetary alignment. To be able to draw a straight line from the sun to 2 planets means they are aligned. Why is there confusion here?

For me it's one in behind each other, from the sun to the last plant.. like a straight line so there all eclipsed from the suns light by the closest plant
