my sm7db microphone has the bypass and preamp setting.Should it be set to +18 or +28 db? in addition to the settings you've mentioned?

It's lowkey kind of funny that the microphone has a hissing noise even in an official shure video where the company is supposed to be the most invested in displaying perfect audio capabilities

Do these have anything to do with why my SM7B just stops picking up anything when a singer hits a high note? Doesn't change volume, just goes high.
