He was very talented. We know that Steve Allen also played a big role in Don Knotts' career. His first recordings were for the Roulette label as Jimmy Nabors. YouTube has them. One song had the same source as Elvis' hit It's Now or Never.

Jim was the godfather of Carol Burnett's second daughter Jody. After his variety show ended, he later did a talk show. Hopefully I still have my autographed photo.

In regards to Hawaii- A television special he made years ago I really liked. It was called Christmas in Hawaii. It was filmed in Hawaii and it featured Jim Nabors, Carol Burnett, Tom Selleck, and island talent. I remember the one song The Twelve Days of Christmas from the special that I got a kick out of because it featured island items instead of the traditional items from the song.
