I've been using that tip IRL for years.

If in Solo play, you cannot die to zombies mid sleep. They politely wait for you to wake up before even attempting a grab.

I feel like you should have the option to cover up windows with visors or random crap and tape or just heavy tint, and if the engine is shut off, zombies will not detect you. Zombies walk around cars all the time and a car in decent condition is well sealed meaning they shouldn’t be able to smell you even if you haven’t showered in weeks. So if they don’t see you, smell you, or hear you, they shouldn’t detect you and just walk past your car.

I found out about this awhile ago because on my playthrough the zombies agro onto everything and become sprinters at night. So anytime I had to travel long distances, around the time the sun sets I would park up and hunker down for the night, and continue on my way once the sun comes back out. Works every time. Just

Cars can be mobile safehouses like this
Glove box with medicine, a car seat of essential tools, and rear seats with food/water
trunk for extra storage

Tbh the amount of sleep PZ characters is mad. My survivor gets more sleep than I do

To the comment regarding tents, once I did a overstretch to an industrial area, then bounced to the woods when an alarm at the compoud broke out, I hid in the trees and set up a tent and stood safe and sound that time I was grateful for carrying it!
