What's the benefit of getting an 18hp over the 12hp if you only see a 2mph difference? Is it worth the extra money?

Lol. A standard mercury/tohatsu 15hp four stroke goes straight up to 44kmh, which equals a 27+mph. Also behind a small inflatable of course.

I was expecting more speed from an 18 hp on that little dingy. I have an 02 mercury 15 hp on A 14x42 G3 jon boat I get 24mph by myself and fishing gear running a 9x9 prop
