I just started breaking mine in today I purchased Lucas marine grease & a grease gun to fill the grease fittings full of marine grease then I popped off the propeller and greased the main shaft & added the gear oil and ran it.. There’s 4 steps to the process (1)I let it run for 10 minutes in neutral at 1000rpm (2)Then I put it in forward gear at 25% throttle where the notch is on the handle and arrow meet.. (3)I plan on finish breaking the motor in on the water for the next two hours of the break in period at variable speeds not exceeding 50% throttle the next warm day I get outside.

This is absolutely the most budget way to get over 12mph, without a doubt. Thank you for all your testing. Gonna upgrade/fiberglass a transom on an Intex Excursion 4, and then put one of these engines to it. Already have a wood floor for it, so it should plane good. It'll be interesting for sure.

I have used one of these same outboard motors on my 25ft McGregor sailboat .. It worked great during the time I was able to take my sailboat out and looking at getting a 12hp so I can use the 6hp for my dingy

I purchased mine last April, I use it all year long. Those are great motors, the key is Ethanol free fuel and sea foam.. Greetings from Arizona!

I've got about 25 hours on mine after 1 season in salt water. No issues so far, other than having to mess with the pilot air screw and idle screw a little bit.

i bought the 2 stroke last year but only use it 2 times about 1 hour of use. I had a problem with mine cut off and wouldn't start back up for about 3 weeks of trying to start but it wasn't getting any fuel to the caburetor so i remove that switch thingy on the side and replace it with a conventional squeeze primer now it works great just 3 to 5 squeeze of the priming ball and she starts right up after 3 to 5 pull

I tested my 12HP HangKai the first time a few day ago and I was able to plane and reach 18Mph with 2 people (full 6 gallon tank and 370lb of us) I still need to work on trimming it right and I will prob add a hydrofoil to plane faster. I'm using high quality Oil Quicksilver Synthetic Blend, used Quicksilver transmission Oil and common 87 octane gas.
Just have 2 hours on mine and requires 10 hours break in. I payed $1300
Greetings from the San Francisco

I've seen first hand someone mess up and get thrown overboard but luckily they had their engine kill switch wrapped on their wrist and a life jacket. Although the person did get hit in the head when he was thrown, he did not get knocked out. It happened in about 2 seconds. Love this video, it shows the engines working great, but let's try to keep you around to make more....wear a life jacket and put the safety cutoff on.👈👈

Your water demo sold me on the 6HP performance. Thing moves with one person. I was conflicted on getting the 2 stroke or shelling out a few hundred extra on the 6.5 horse 4 stroke with a Saturn inflatable.

Works alright if you take care of it and grease it up to prevent rust.

These are Tohatsu M5BDS clones. Parts are interchangeable. The 12 is a 9.8 2 stroke M9.8B is that model. The 18 is, yep you guessed it a 15hp Tohatsu M15B.

Do you know how
much these motors weigh?
Do they have a nice consistent idol for trolling.
