I now have my first wonderful chihuahua. He is almost 6 months. I love this loving dog so much. He is everything I ever wanted in a dog.

The problem I have is defiance. If mine is doing something he's not supposed to and I have to physically stop him like when he refuses to get off my lap so I can stand up or get away from the open window for safety and I move him no matter how gently he growls and bites. It's not fear because this dog is the most socialized and healthy dog otherwise. He's great with strangers and is outgoing but don't make him do something he doesn't want. He loves getting picked up unless it's to carry him out of the room he's not supposed to be in.

My chi is now 6 mths old she spends a lot of time around me as i am at home .
I noted of growl from time to time and i addressed it by redirection but my friend would tell her off.
Over weekend she has become more growling and biting but it more towards me if i go to do something with her putting her harness on (unfortunately i got harness stuck on her last week and partner had to get it off So i understand for harness.
Chi loves my granddaughter to bits. Friend she loves also but more weary because he will shout. But im the one getting bitten i redirect im the one she comes to for cuddles etc food walks.
Vet thought maybe resourcing me but we confused why she biting me and not those around if overprotective of me.
She does listen to commands from me sit -stay wait come which ive taught.
So i dont understand.
Sometimes im a bit fearful and other times im not like you got to get past this
She has bitten and broken skin and bruised me. But not to others .
Scared in case she does go for someone or child. Yet when out she does not really bark and walks well on lead again which ive taught.
But in garden she is afraid of noise sudden noise some traffic but because of hedges she cannot see yet fine when walking past on lead.
Does not bark at people on the bus only when she can hear but not see people she barks.
I made the mistake of allowing her to sleep on bed sleeps by me never gone to bite me or growl on top or under cover only when she of on top of cover sitting on me and I move.
Im confused why i am getting growled and bitten moreso. Please help lil anxious n scared too 0:15

My rescue Chi apparently was abused by a man and she now accepts and likes some men and acts very aggressive toward other men. My brother in particular whom I love. What is the best way to deal with this?

Thank you for your video. We’re new Chihuahua owners. It’s just my husband and I and we have a cat. He doesn’t care about the cat. That’s not a problem but sometimes snarls when we pet his head sometimes and sometimes for no seems for no reason he wants to Starl. Or if he doesn’t want to be picked up but we have to pick him up. Is this normal.?

My poor doggo gets so scared/ excited by walks that when I pull out the leash he rolls over and has an accident. He loves the actual walk. I have started to leave the leash where he can just sniff it and relax and we've gotten rid of the accidents. But he still rolls over when walk time comes.

I’m a longtime dachshund lover and owner but recently ended up adopting a rescue Chiweenie. He was being given away because he was aggressive towards kids and other dogs. We’ve been working with him, as we have another very sweet doxie he likes a lot, and also foster for our dachshund rescue, and he’s been doing amazing. Loves our current foster, plays endlessly, he’s sweet and cuddly, I bring him everywhere and he’s well behaved in his stroller, he’s doing good with my older kids, BUT, he’s bitten my husband three times, even though he LOVES and cuddles with him all the time too! First time playtime just escalated, the second time was nail trimming (understandable) but just now he launched at my husband when he was just walking towards us and tried to kiss me while the dog and I were on the couch. Took us by surprise. I want to say he was sleeping and caught off guard but I don’t know. He seems to be triggered and gets stuck in aggression mode: growling and snapping. He’s been with us for 2 months and settling in nicely, but it scares me to get attached to a dog that will turn out to be easily triggered and / or unpredictably aggressive. But at the same time we already love him and we have always been committed to our animals. I’m at a loss. None of our dachshunds has had these issues and I can see a lot of the chihuahua in him. Adorable little thing but a little scary 😢

We are taking care of a 7 year old male chihuahua. He is very sweet and cuddly, however he will show his teeth and growl if he is on anyone’s lap and is approached by someone or our older dog. If he’s on my husband’s lap and I try to kiss him, he will become aggressive and the same in the opposite situation. We find this difficult to deal with. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Have you ever noticed a chihuahua get more aggressive over time? I have a two year old chihuahua and he’s the sweetest thing but I’ve been slowly noticing more that he’ll growl or be grumpy when sleeping now

I have a chihuahua named Blondie and she's such a sweet girl! Only time she ever snaps or snarls is if she's asleep and gets woke up too suddenly so we just try to be gentle and patient if she is sleeping and have no problems. Also she loves Bananas! ❤️

I rescued a 10 month old chihuahua that is only aggressive when you tell him “no” or “Kevin, that’s bad” he goes insane and attacks. I’m assuming this is fear aggression. How do I make him understand I will not hurt him?

The reason is because most owner of chihuahua raise them like a indoor cat. The dog never socialize and if you are not part of the family they will bite you. I think it would be like that for any dog. However i have a malinois for exemple and i need her to go out multiple time a day, dog park daily so she is friendly with anybody. I would let her run inside a kindergarten with my eye close. Chihuahua owner should socialize their dog more often! It’s not a cat!
