Nice work! I've had a gameboy pocket which I haven't been able to fix. It isn't the simple cleaning button pads, as I did that.

It powers on and loads a game correctly. But the start and select buttons don't work. The D pad, A and B buttons work correctly. I took off the start and select and gave it a clean with iso a few times and frustratingly, it isn't fixed.

Everything looks fine on the PCB. Any ideas on next steps please?

What do you use to take off the gummy stuff before new screen protector? Also where do you find a new green screen?

I have an original Game Boy that I bought from a discount store. Whenever I play any game, it turns off and restarts from the beginning. I did some research and found that low voltage from certain rechargeable batteries could cause this issue. I’ve already tested it with high-quality name-brand batteries, but the problem persists. Could you help me understand the cause or point me in the right direction for troubleshooting?

looks amazing! Question: do you know the best place to find replacment screens for the DMG? I need one because mine that I had bought has dead pixel lines on the left side of the screen, and when I look it up on either Amazon or Ebay they either dont have one availible, its a whole motherboard with the screen, or its a back light mod 🥲

But WHY won't they turn on with DC adapter? I have this issue on 3 different OG Game Boys and it's driving me mad. They work with Batteries just fine but NOT with DC adapter. Is this some kind of common issue with them?
