I have a 2019 mustang, I think my starter might be going out . That cranking sound I guess the starter makes, it makes that noise one time and starts right up. It doesn’t make that sound 2, 3 times like it normally had before . Got battery tested and it’s been done.

See that grinding noise after the engine starts is my problem as well. What is/was your issue?

So what does it mean if you hear a weird noise when cranking to battery but when starting it’s seems just fine?

My car sometimes it does not want to star but after 2 or 3 times it stars. But only does it occasionally could it be my starter? It's been like that for like 6 months.

I gotta Question, I bought a mustang with a bad radiator. Paid a shop to fix it and refill it with more coolant. And i drove it after well a couple weeks go by and my car starts saying it’s getting and and then cold, hot then cold. It’s not smoking so I genuinely don’t think it’s my coolant level because it just got filled. I thought it was maybe a sensor so I fixed the engine coolant temp sensor still didn’t fix, and I found a hole in a hose so I put tape over it. Thought it was just my temp gauge well I drove it and the hose from my air intake to my left valve cover blew a hole and my car shut off. Fixed both the hose but the car won’t start back up, now sounds like a starter but why would that go bad. It sounds like a whirring sounds when turning the key over. It doesn’t crank or start just a whirring sound and everytime it drains my battery more and more to the point my lights in the car get dimmed

i just changed the starter and it still makes the same nasty sound but doesn't start up, think its the alternator?

So I got in my car and pulled off but I could only go 1 mile then the car shut off. Every time I crank it it makes the sound wene your battery go dead. But I just bought a new battery so does that mean it’s the start ?

Mine only sounds bad when its cold, i hear a scratching sound like my engine sounds dry for a sec. Is that my starter?

How do i know the difference if its just the starter or the starter motor

I drove my car a hour and when I went to turn it on it was cranking but it started later on that day

It kinda does this on my honda civic 2022 only in the morning though when i turn it on then any other time in the day its fine, should i be worried?!

My car sounds like that but I have a 2006 Infiniti g35 4 door sedan and it sounds like it’s under my car
