but if the CTR and AVD is super high, but other outside our audience aren't interested, wouldn't that in turn then lower the CTR as you recommend it to more people? Cuz i have a lot of vids with high CTR & AVD that just were not pushed to other audiences

There’s something YT isn’t sharing here and I’ve experienced it on one of my channels. They tell you: if the audience watches your video all the way through the video will get pushed out, but that’s not true for all channels and YT knows why but doesn’t share publicly.

Yeah that’s the way it is when a video gets put out onto newcomers pages. A lot of them have expectations that are impossible to know. So a lot of them will change the channel pretty quickly.

Agreed. I've seen this happen in my best performing videos. What I often don't understand is when a video that is doing very well suddenly stops, I mean overnight go from 1000s of views to almost none. I had one specifically that went to 75k views very quickly and then just flat lined. I would love to understand how that happens so quickly? Any insight on this very sudden flat lining would be appreciated.

The problem with this guy is that he usually gives contradictory advice from video to video. It's as if he also doesn't know how YouTube works.

for me, it is precisely the opposite! the more my video gets shown to new people the better the click-rate gets

Can you add a stat for how broadly appealing a video is? There must be a single number you could boil it down to that says "this is 1% appealing" or this is "70%" appealing? Better still, if you categorized "groups" of maybe a few dozen different areas and give a percentage for each area that it's working for.

As it stands, I don't think something can be derived from existing stats, or research/trends, or anywhere else in existing metrics.

What do you do when YouTube gives you zero impressions? I have shorts where there were 10 or less impressions, 5 likes and over 100% watch through and 100% CTR. So why did I get no more impressions?
