Honestly, that option is super helpful. Some vids are good for only new viewers.

This is what I have been doing with some shorts. It's a great way not to annoy your subscribers!

I have actually done this with pretty good success tbh it seems to get more impressions which ensures that your videos get fed to those who may be new to your content

I used this for Dec/holiday shorts and it worked, it's a great feature

I've been thinking about this for Let's Plays. Upload one at a time, which could take months for long games, or all at once, but make only the first video pushed to subscribers.

Yeah, right. A few months ago I posted a Short and I specifically unchecked the "notify subscribers" box just to see how many people besides my subscribers would get to see that Short. And... turns out, a few of my subscribers DID actually get a notification when the Short was published. So, YouTube, please fix your s..t.

This was actually pretty helpful. The shorts algorithm does wonders for channels, now. Why can’t the regular video feed be adjusted in a way that’s similar?

Here is another use case: I co-manage a channel that wants to upload a lot of archive stuff sometime in the near future. They are probably going to upload like 10 to 15 videos on one day and want to only push one of those to their subscribers so they do not get overwhelmed. Either way, they’re uploading it mostly for it to be found in their YouTube archive and not just on their website. So that is something where this feature is very useful.

It's good to know something like this is possible. It's something to try out. Thanks.

wow! this whole time I've been trying so damn hard to try to get my videos to my actual subscribers. you mean I could actually click a box to make sure that they don't?!?

I noticed that feature only shows up when I use my computer but not when I’m trying to upload directly from my iphone. I’m glad there’s this feature though!

Shorts that we upload are not seen by our subscribers unless they regularly watch shorts. This needs to change. We are losing potential viewers this way. I think all the videos that a channel uploads, both regular videos and Shorts, should appear in the sub feed for those who are subscribed to the channel.

Yeah. Already used it. Thanks for clarification.

Why is my box greyed out? I just posted a video today that’s a technical tutorial opposed to gaming, so I don’t really want it in front of my core subs.

What about making a private video public? Will that notify? Can I turn it off?

So this way I can put out shorts on my channel without annoying the long-form subs.

Is there a way to do this when uploading on mobile, or to set it permanently?

Is this doable on phone or only pc only?

Whenever I upload a new channel trailer, even if I check "Not notify subscribers, " it still goes out to them. Any idea why?
