Always remember just like the way she’s saying God never leaves you! I struggled with this as well but God eventually revealed to me that He isn’t a feeling. It’s not necessarily about feeling His presence but *knowing* that He’s there even when you don’t feel it.

OH MY WORD!!
I literally went on fasting for this two days ago. Praise Jesus, I can share this here with you. I wanted that constant feeling of God's presence and peace, and i went on fasting and prayed about it, and I remember going to work after that, the moment the feeling of loneliness started to seep in, I just got a confirmation feeling of, "Oh, Jesus is here."
I'm telling you. It literally felt like that safe feeling you would get when you know that your close friend is gonna be there, and so there's no need to be scared. That's what it felt like!
In fasting:
I was reading a story in Exodus and i realise that at one part, Moses went up to the mountain, and then God came to him in the form of thick clouds. This was so telling, as yes, he'll never leave us, but that initiative to meet him first and he'll definitely meet you half way. This made me realise that all we need to do, is be in that constant spiritual space of looking for God in everything we see and do (taking the responsibility of seeking him out first), and then eventually, in Jesus's name, we'll get the overwhelming feeling of, "Oh, he's here" ("He's always here").
Also, try just singing to him in your free time. It could be 5 minutes, it could be 2. I realise when I do this, at times, the song will still be singing in my spirit even when I am not physical humming. It helps with that constant feeling.

I struggle to read the Bible and pray. I always think I have to read the bible but never do it. My prayers are pathetic. I'm either asking Him for help or just thanking Him for always being there for me. There's always this block where I don't move towards God. I need to change and I know I do.
