The only way to resurrect the franchise is to give us what we had with 1-3. Maturity, gore, a compelling story, characters that aren't insufferable, a feeling of insurmountable odds, guns that sound and feel heavy, an enemy that makes us feel like they are a threat, destructible surrounding (buildings, fences, vehicles, general structures), and this one is just a personal preference, we need an inspiring speech on the level of or greater than the speech Chairman Prescott gave us in Gears of War 2.

And people who say that I'm coping or am "blinded by nostalgia" have gotten used to getting shafted (or didn't mind getting the shaft in the first place) and have forgotten what standards are.
