Love how without words Marcus says to JD: “I know just how you feel son. And it’s okay, I got you.”
(Remembering Dom)

As much as I like Del I will always choose JD, I can't put Marcus through that again. First it was Dom, then it was his Dad, and then Anya. I'm not about to let Marcus lose his only son.

"Goddamnit James" You really felt the weight of that

Marcus lost his mom, then his best friend, then dad, and his wife. Losing his son might just be the one thing that would break the camel's back.

Somehow, seeing Marcus comfort his son is more emotional than him losing JD.

That alone shows me that Del dying is the canon ending.

This is why I chose to save JD. Couldnt do that to poppa Marcus.

The way he backs up from kait when she is trying to hand him his tags is just so god damn sad

The fact Marcus walked away from the tags made me more sad because he couldn't accept it

imagine how JD must feel. He only JUST got over his grief and guilt from accidentally killing Izzy and the whole convoy, and now he's lost his best friend. The grief must be overwhelming

I like to think Del dying was the one Canon, there’s no way they could screw Marcus like this, losing Dom, his father, Anya, then his son

"Hey Del look who's saving who again" that brought me in tears

I don’t know if anyone notice but you can tell fanz and del were staring to become friends. Thats sad

Marcus already lost his best friend and wife, and probably mourned them every day for decades. His character doesn't need another person to grieve. Brutal that the story hands Del and J.D.'s fate up to the player.

he lost his mother elain, he lost his first brother in life Carlos, his surrogate parents eduardo and eva, he then lost his father, he then lost tai, then his second brother in life dom, then his father again, then the love of his life his son, this mans life is nothing but pain(edit) take into account that doms kids were basically his nice and was a orphan ward of the state and grew up with jd at the stroud estate, possibly under marcus and anya....so he's lost a son in either scenario

The detail in this game is impeccable, especially with the characters of the two Fenix men and how they handle situations of grief. At 1:02 and 2:24, you see both Marcus and James shrug of someone’s efforts to console them about a loved ones death. However, if JD lives (which imo is the better path) Marcus knows that is exactly what he’d do, because he has been through it before. He knows the pain of losing your best friend in battle. He knows how to console his son because of how much of a spitting image JD is of him. Beautiful work.

As much as I like seeing Marcus' reaction to losing his son. I think Del's death is actually more impactful. It fucks up everybody in their squad. Kait is of course traumatized because she made the choice. JD loses it, Marcus knows exactly what he's going through and comforts him. Fahz is even more torn up about it in Del's scene than JD'S, notice how much slower Mr. Shades takes off his glasses. It's those little details that make Del's death scene so good, he really was the heart of the team, the glue.

No matter how many times I come back to see this scene, its one of the very rare few that when he repeatedly says no, I cry as I can almost feel what's hanging in the air as he tries to back away, trying to escape the reality of his sons death
