The six Celtic nations are Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Cornwall and the Isle of Man. They all have Celtic languages and culture. What if these six regions united into one Celtic Union?

As a fluent welsh speaker it hurts my heart to see the other Celtic language’s struggling if you are Celtic try and learn your native tongue be proud of your language

As a Welshman I think this would be a great idea. As a federal Celtic Union we would each retain a high degree of autonomy over our own policy but none of us are large enough to completely dominate the others on union wide issues like England is in the UK. This would be a much more fair and equal union than the UK could ever hope to be. The only real issue is Northern Ireland, however Ulster could be made a federal entity within the Union to appease the protestants, similar to the current situation Northern Ireland has within the UK

Hey there! I love the video, i'm a proud celt and a lot of people forget about us and our history in Europe. Just some constructive criticism though, you did miss Galicia, a region in Northwestern Spain that is very Celtic. A lot of people usually go with the 6 Celtic nations (which indulge Galicia), but some dispute there is more, such as Asturias, which I would say is a Celtic nation, but not a lot of people consider it one. But keep up the great work!

As a Cornishman this would be great, in Cornwall many are now more interested in independence from England.

Great video! So many great points. You’ve really created a blueprint for this. Love the thought of the capital in Douglas! 😀

And many, many congratulations on the 1, 000 subscribers!

Don’t forget that Galicia and a few other northern Iberian regions are also considered Celtic by technicality!

Don't forget Northern Ireland and also some northern English regions are quite celtic, such as Cumbria.

Thank you so much for 1, 000 subscribers on Geography World! Expect some announcements soon.

Also, I should have said in the video that the Isle of Man is currently a self-governing British crown dependency, not part of the UK.

You seem to be omitting Galicia - that’s another Celtic country!

I like Celtic nations. I think the Celtic nations should co-operate at sports.
We could have a cross border soccer Celtic Nations Club Cup for soccer on top of domestic and European football.
Cross border matches are my favourite, as clubs are playing for national and local pride.
I would love a cross border cup between all Scottish Premiership sides. Plus selected sides from Northern Ireland, Wales, the Republic of Ireland, Cornwall, the Isle of Man and Brittany.
This would be on top of domestic and European soccer.
Travel would be no tougher than the trips various football teams do in European trophies.
Look at the trips that African teams to do in African soccer.
Travel would be no tougher than many trips in professional club sports in Australia, Canada, the USA, Mexico, India, China, Russia, and Brazil.
My idea would be a group stage trophy, followed by a knockout stage leading to a final.
Imagine games like Glasgow Celtic v Nantes, Cardiff City v Aberdeen, Glasgow Rangers v Swansea City, Wrexham v Dundee United, Rennes v Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian v Cork City, Linfield v The New Saints, Truro City v the Isle of Man, Barry Town United v Dundee, Lorient v Motherwell, and Stade Brestois 29 v Shamrock Rovers.
I would support cross border matches for all Scottish Premiership sides each season.
The population of the Celtic nations of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Cornwall, the Isle of Man, and Cornwall add up to around 20 million people.
It would be a good market, for Scottish teams to play in. It would be a good thing for Scottish sides to have cross border matches.

Really interesting video!, I’m a bit sad that even in the comments nobody mentioned Northern Italy, we haven’t got much autonomy from the government and our local language is gallo-romance (derived from a mix of Latin and Celtic), most cultural traditions here come from the Celts, and even the mentality is more Central European than Mediterranean. We’re a strange lot, a Celtic-Latin-Germanic people whose very existence unfortunately today many fail to acknowledge.
If a Celtic Union will be created, leave an empty seat for us please!:)
