I lived just outside of Wimberley. There's tons of places like this in TX. I'm a 65 yo native to Central TX. Ya just gotta Google, research etc.

We used to hang out there in the 70's before tourism, and the bad apples it brings, darn near ruined it.
The water was cold, clear, and clean. We used to float watermelons in the well to get them cold.

Me and my sister used to play a game where we would swim down and grab a rock.

The rocks around it also make for natural high diving spots.

It now so low that the water level is below that opening they are standing around. You can thank the government for allowing the water to be directed towards city water system.

Unregulated growth and poor water management has caused Jacob's well to dry up. You used to be able to see the artesian well bubbling up above the surface. Thanks to greed it will never be like that again.
