Texas is home to beautiful swimming holes, but none is more enticing than the mysterious Jacob's Well. How deep is Jacob's Well? What does it look like inside Jacob's Well? Sitting on the banks of Cypress Creek in Wimberley, this swimming hole is unlike anything in Texas. It dips down hundreds of feet into the earth, down to the aquifer that feeds the creek. It's a cool sight and an even cooler swim.

I've dived in that underwater cave over 100 times. I almost lost my life at about 65 feet down. One of the most incredible lifeforms to exist in this cave is albino freshwater eels.

I did a dive there in the early 90's. Went to the third chamber...cold water was flowing up from the bottom...it was very scary.

July 2024. The only water there now is the hole itself. Creek bed is dry.
