What really happened in Israel on Oct. 7? w/Max Blumenthal | The Chris Hedges Report

For all the sensationalism surrounding the events of Oct. 7, when Hamas broke through the Gaza fence and seized territory in the Gaza Envelope as part of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, there is still much that we do not know. The official Israeli death toll from the attack is estimated at 1,200 civilians, revised from an initial estimate of 1,400. Among this figure are several hundred civilians, which Israel says were killed by Hamas militants. Other testimony from survivors of Oct. 7 suggests an alternative explanation—that in its fervor to defeat Hamas, Israeli commanders may have willingly targeted and sacrificed Israeli soldiers and civilians in the crossfire. An Israeli woman who survived the Hamas assault on settlements near the Gaza boundary on 7 October says Israeli civilians were “undoubtedly” killed by their own security forces.

It happened when Israeli forces engaged in fierce gun battles with Palestinian fighters in Kibbutz Be’eri and fired indiscriminately at both the fighters and their Israeli prisoners.

“They eliminated everyone, including the hostages, ” she told Israeli radio. “There was very, very heavy crossfire” and even tank shelling.

The woman, 44-year-old mother of three Yasmin Porat, said that prior to that, she and other civilians had been held by the Palestinians for several hours and treated “humanely.” She had fled the nearby “Nova” rave.

The Hannibal doctrine used in the Israeli army is horrible enough, but to apply that to civilians of your own country and just massacre them just to dealing with them as hostages is so appalling, so inhumane. Let's be honest, the idea and Netanyahu do not care about their own hostages. Of course on TV they're going to say they care about the hostages but just think if Israel is blocking clean water, feel, electricity and medical supplies, that affects the hostages also. If they're blocking food and water what are the hostages going to eat and that's not even taking into account the bombings. Those hostages have to be somewhere in Gaza in one of those buildings or scattered around in different buildings so if they're bombing every other building they're most likely going to kill the hostages too and if the bombings don't kill him like I said no water no food no medical supply and no electricity is going to kill them then. But Netanyahu doesn't carry he'll just blame her mom's for it he'll say Hamas killed all their hostages but you got to use common sense. Why would Hamas kill all these hostages out of the blue, you have to ask yourself. The whole point of having a hostages is to have some leverage and some type of deal. But like I said Netanyahu does not care about not only Palestinian civilians he doesn't even care about his own civilians
