Marty left home at age 12 to play with Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs. Master of his craft.

I've been a Dutch fan of Marty since 1995, I was introduced to his music by a Welsh guy called Shakin' Stevens (who covered one of Marty's songs during his concerts in the early and mid 1990s). From then on I have bought every album that Marty released. I could go on and on why he's my favourite country artist, but I won't. There are a lot of pretenders and a lot of people who sell loads and loads more records than he does, but Marty is the real deal. An absolute legend in his genre!

Great that you're covering Marty. He is great, and he does so much to support the country music community. Cheers!

I cannot play guitar or any instrument. My only musical talent is music appreciation. But I find your videos very educational because I learn about the technical artistry and I always like to learn about the true craftsmanship.

You did it again. Marty is one of the last of the generation that you have pointed out having outstanding technique, personality, humility and singing ability. Nice job.

Marty Stuart is a powerful player. There's also some videos of Marty playing mandolin when he was around 12-13 years old here on YouTube. He was great even true prodigy!

in the words of Charlie Daniels, "Sit down in that chair right there and let me show how it's done"
Marty is the MAN!!

As a fan, this man will spend time conversing with you, and never rush you, he is genuine.
The Man is the Real Deal!!
Experiencing, his craft and his equally gifted band in the front row, is a gift!! 🙏🏻

I always feel that bluegrass players are among the best players around. They often have really great technique and know their instrument well.

You've really opened my eyes to different artists that I would have never gave a second look to, and they are amazing! For that, I thank you, Fil! You do an awesome job!

Fil I first met Marty in 1974 in Oklahoma at a bluegrass festival when he was playing with Lester Flatt and the Foggy Mt. Boys. He was great when he was 14 and my favorite mandolin picker then and is now. Marty brought so many new things with his picking back then that a lot of mandolin pickers didn't have and that to me is what made him unique from all the others. He has refined it over the years thank Fil!

Marty is the lucky owner of one of the late, great Don Rich’s Fender Telecasters. Don Rich played with Buck Owens and virtually wrote the modern day language of country music electric guitar. Marty does a wonderful job carrying on this amazing tradition...
Thank you for sharing as I have not visited Marty in a while!
And now my face is melted again

Been a fan of Marty for more than 25 years. He has been a working musician for 48 of his 60 years, and he only gets better. Thx Fil, I was going to suggest him.

I grew up in Mexico, Texas, and England, I love how you give an open-minded review that notices his hard earned skills as a musican, I think that no matter where you reside, it's kind of clear that Mr. Stuart can shred a mandolin until it overheats, Thanks for the video.
