I love that a bald guy is expertly talking about Monats shampoo.

This is so worrisome. The CEOs want to cut corners all for profit. How gross.

A quick excerpt from the wikipedia on lilial that mentions other names it falls under (in case anyone want to check for it): Lilial (a trade name for lily aldehyde, also known as lysmeral) is a chemical compound commonly used as a perfume in cosmetic preparations and laundry powders, often under the name butylphenyl methylpropional. It is an aromatic aldehyde, naturally occurring in crow-dipper and tomato plants, and produced synthetically in large scale. It was banned for use in cosmetics by the EU in March 2022 after being found to be harmful to fertility.

Why these companies don't care. It's all about profit. Why it is more profitable to have contracted workers.
Green washing is a problem. More worried about getting rid of stock for profit over safety is a problem.

I've just had another random thought about this. Ray said "the FDA gives us a grace period to remove the lillial from the Why? Why does the FDA care? It's not banned or regulated in the USA. Anything I find on Google says they (the FDA) are currently just 'monitoring the situation'.

Monat removed lillial because of EU regulations. But the EU regulators wouldn't be visiting USA manufacturing facilities. They would just be box ticking on import paperwork (I assume that's how that happens, since they wouldn't have jurisdiction to just walk into foreign factories).

All this to say... That's a lie, right? The FDA might be checking B&R for other reasons - but not for lillial.

Weird thing to lie about. And makes the entire thing more suspicious.

Wow truly crazy! And I still have some MONAT products, older, and decided to look at one, took photos and I think it has that ingredient in it, it’s the very last ingredient. I wasn’t even sure how to spell it. I don’t know if I’m able to add photos here?

Is this ingredients in other US products? Is it legal in US? EU bans a lot of ingredients that are totally legal for use in America.

I'd sooner trust a skin care regimen from the dollar store! And I bought skin care there on Sunday and came home with dollar skin care... and Covid! Still better than Monat.

It's extra awful when you remember MLMs recruit and market to women who are trying to build big families and stay home with their kids.

I agree with you that this ingredient needs to be looked into and it’s disgusting that they’re continuing to use it for certain countries just to offload it.
However, I do with you wouldn’t use the EWG as a source, they are a terrible resource and extremely biased. They promote fear of conventional produce and spread misinformation.

Sorry I keep going back to YL but that’s my knowledge. This reminds be of what happened with the red drink that begins with N don’t wanna say cause don’t wanna get sued but if you know what I’m talking about I am truly sorry. Anyways years ago they stopped selling the drink cause no bottles but when it came back to market. We noticed the labeling was odd. So comes to they put American labels over another countries and it showed that the sugar intake was so much higher more than doubled!! So after a bit of back and forth YL claimed that it was nothing just the percentages fluctuate differently in other countries 🤣🤣🤣

Do not panic if you have products with this ingredient. EU is extremely strict with regulations and bans ingredients which have a slight possibility of some bad side effects in like 1000x stronger concentrations. It is more of a precaution than something else. That's the reason why there weren't any recalls.

But that monat "expert" is full of shit anyway 😤
