What is the definition of faith?

What is the definition of faith? How does the Bible define faith? Is faith intellectual assent or does it involve trust?

I liked this video. Faith is believing God and Jesus Christ, not merely acknowledging they exist but specifically believing the message of the Gospel along with all the other wonderful teachings and statements in Holy Bible. Faith is "sitting in The Chair" trusting Christ and obeying Him and God the Father. To have faith in Jesus is to obey Jesus and this is only possible through the indwelling Holy Spirit. We have a Perfect Obedience Record freely given to us by God and Christ Jesus when we call upon His Name and Profess, "Jesus is Lord", believing He Is Risen from the dead. Ideally, Christians mustn't sin, but if they/we do, repentant confession must take place and forsaking sin doing what we can to walk the straight and narrow Path.

This was all very well presented but the only question that I would have is that if we are to literally believe what the Bible says and obey it, if my right hand sins, should I literally believe what the Bible says and cut it off and pluck out my eye also? see my point? There are things in the Bible that are not meant to be literally believed and obeyed but, on the other hand when it comes to the Gospel which is the truth of God's word, we are to literally believe by faith the promises of God and trust and rest in those promises . Our flesh does not show us how to live accordingly but our position and identity in Christ Jesus gives us confidence and assurance that we are a child of God and we now live according to our new position and identity in Christ Jesus through saving faith. We were transformed the instant we believed the truth of God's word which is the gospel of our salvation and not by anything that can be accomplished by our own righteousness of our flesh but by the righteousness of Christ Jesus imputed to us when we believed.😊

You state that believing isn’t enough…then why does the Bible say that?? Man loves to distort the Bible and add to it. And one having issues or questioning their salvation, just read the gospel below. If you are wondering what faith is, search for another video than this one.

The “Gospel” is defined as Christ's DEATH on the cross for our sins, He was BURIED, and He bodily RESURRECTED from the dead three days later (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). Anyone who judges them self as a needy sinner and believes the Gospel is saved. I believe that one's salvation is solely based in Christ's righteousness and has absolutely nothing to do with one's desire to depart from sin. Romans 4:5-6 plainly teaches that salvation is “without works” of self-righteousness, and that we are saved by the imputed righteousness of God by faith in Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:9; Romans 10:3-4). Salvation is of the Lord. A changed life is the FRUIT of the indwelling Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and not a part of the ROOT of saving faith. A person gives up their sins because they ARE a Christian (Ephesians 2:10), and not to BECOME a Christian (Ephesians 2:8-9). The changed life comes AFTER a person is saved, as a person grows in the milk of the Word (1st Peter 2:2). In the Gospel, the total weight of sin's burden was placed upon Jesus Christ on the cross. We are saved by believing the Gospel when we hear it preached (Galatians 3:2; Acts 2:41).

Haha if somebody cannot prove Faith then that body has no idea what Faith AND God are period. Faith can be proven yet if the listener or onlooker does not WILL TO UNDERSTAND it is not because there is no "explicit proof" but because there is no will.
